Reception was a bit slow and when we returned to go to claim our room around 2.30pm having checked in and left our bags at 11.15 ish, the Reception person tried to make us fill out the same documents for checking in. This despite my saying we had been checked in earlier. .( think she was trainee) The other issue was that the shower unless you squatted down was prone to bouncing off the body all over the floor due to insufficient vertical glass on side of bath. V strange design.

Location and bed.breakfast was v good. Staff in breakfast room were excellent and worked v hard.

Terrible evening meal in the bar. Hardly any choice and what we ordered was a microwave meal not even heated up properly

The noise from building work opposite our room waking us up each morning at 5.00 am

The hotel is lovely and in a great location just around the corner from a tube station there are also good restaurants and bars close by.

Aircon in our room stopped working, took a while to have fixed but staff gave us a portable fan in the interim

Our room quiet small, and tv didn’t work, bar was closed when we got back from our show, which was a shame.

First room we were allocated was on lower ground floor and was dark and cramped. We were moved to a higher floor the following day which was much better.

Breakfast was fantastic - buffet with a good selection. The room for breakfast was stunning.

There was no elevator. The room was quite small didn’t realise it was going to have stairs in it.

It was clean. The staff were always at the front desk. Bathroom was tidy. The biscuits they left in the room were nice and the water.

I was on the 8th floor and the lift only goes up to the 7th. It was a challenge to get my suitcase up and down the stairs. But I was on a good value deal, so I knew what to expect. The single bedroom was quite compact - ideally I prefer more space but it was manageable.

It is in a good location a few minutes walk from the underground stations at Bayswater and Queensway. The architecture of this hotel, inside and out, is very impressive and it has an interesting history. My room was at the back of the building and it was not noisy at night.

Location perfect for exploring central London. Breakfast excellent. Happily stored luggage prior to check in as we arrived early.

The rooms were compact and had squeaky floorboards. We could hear the guests above us and our floor also made a lot of unavoidable noise.

The staff were friendly and the common areas were beautiful and comfortable.

Facilities a little run down and building fabric needs attention and investment , windows were original but desperately needed restoring . Plumbing was noisy , sounded like a Disney log flume in the next room and the electrics and room phone were I’d say not professionally though out and installed

We were on lower ground. Couldn't open the window as there was something in the way and we heard the underground trains through the night

We were given a room that was like a sauna, with no air. Our neighbour was sitting with the door wide open as it was so warm. When we said it to the reception, they said they’d send someone up to fix it. Someone came up with a fan and said this has been broken for a week or so, it was never going to be fixed today, can you just stay there. The heat was unbearable and fan just blew hot air around the room. We then went back down and they provided a new room which was spot on. The breakfast was lovely but it was a little bit slow getting food when it emptied out, staff were lovely.

The location was ideal, and also the breakfast was very nice. Eventually we got a lovely room too. The staff were very nice too.

The rooms are quite small but did us fine however the drafts coming through the windows and the noise was alot didnt get great sleep due to it seems to be old single glazing but all in all we enjoyed our stay rooms were clean and location and staff were lovely.

Location is great around the corner from shops and tube station and Hyde park . Staff were lovely very helpful , wine and chocolates in our room was a lovely touch .

Room was not quiet: there was noise from the street. Also the room was located near auxiliary exit door (and for personnel "enter door" as well), so in the morning that door was slammed often. The room (single) is rather tiny. The shower cabin could not be closed fully -- a 2 cm slit remained. The electric kettle was broken. Though they managed to fix it somehow on my request. Tea bags were not replenished next day after room cleaning.

Decor is getting tired, uncomfortable bed, very hard pillows and lumpy duvet, tiny room with no desk to work at, air conditioning not working.
