It wasn't that clean, but at least I had the facilities I needed. The room itself had a strong smell of cigarettes, and I am very sensitive about that.

I have been choosing this hotel because of its location. All I need is a place to sleep. I chose the room with the shower so it was ok.

Hate lugging heavy suitcases up stairs. Bathroom shower temperature was extremely temperamental/unreliable. Quite expensive as an Aussie traveller paying the price asked. Back home we'd get far better quality accomm for the same money. Stayed cheaper in GB accomm and in better quality than here.

Close to station for train to Edinburgh. Close to great breakfast Cafe called Hels kitchen. On site restaurant served great pasta. Bar staff friendly, and drinks were well priced.

There was strong bad smell in the bathroom which was also coming to bedroom. Bathroom was clean but not sure from where that smell was coming. Also, the shower is electric, which was not working properly and also quite old, it provided occasional hot water for a couple of seconds only, mostly cold water. They should replace that old electric shower.

The location is good and easily reachable. It has parking as well.

Folk with limited mobility should be aware that rooms are up 2 large flights of stairs.

Staff were friendly and helpful, building old but clean. (Bathroom recently renovated, spacious and clean.) Great value for being so close to airport, I will certainly stay again. This is a 'working' hotel in a residential area, providing a bar and restaurant for locals - no noise from either in room - not a tourist hotel. Various shops and cafes in area, which is fine (I felt safe walking 10 min to airport bus stop at 4am). Local transport links are great, if you're travelling without a car.

The shared bathroom lacked all form of cleanliness. There was no toilet roll the shower was mouldy. The sockets to plug chargers in were broken and cracked extremely unsafe.

Bedrooms were unclean, dirty carpets, dusty and double room 3 the divan base was covered in old blood stains. (Someone clearly has suffered extreme violence whilst in the room given the amount of blood, location and staining) Not something we would have expected to encounter whilst staying with a small child. This is also to note that the tv in room 3 had no remote, and did not work manually. By 10pm on the night of check in, we discovered adult bedbugs on the outside sheeting of both the bed In room 2, and the bed in room 3. We immediately vacated the rooms, and checked out of the hotel so didnt even actually get to stay overnight. No apologies or alternative accommodations were offered by the hotel staff, given that it was a Saturday night, the downstairs bar was busy and only 1 member of staff to cover both bar and hotel guests. The shared bathroom does not fully lock, and is shared by 6 bedrooms. The bedrooms need to be locked as soon as you enter the rooms. If traveling with children (we were 2x adults, 2x children booked into 2 double rooms) DO NOT attempt to stay here. The rooms are loud and noisy, you can hear everything from down in the street, from the bar and other guests trying to access their bedrooms. It did not feel safe, it was not clean and ultimately a health hazard. This wasnt budget accommodation either. We could have booked cheaper slightly further afield, and based our hotel choice purely on the location that we needed for our weekend plans. Which were ruined as we did not forsee having to drive 200miles back home with 2 tired children and ultimately getting home at 2am and spending our sunday trying to locate bed bug killer to fumigate our cars & luggage. Customer service has been atrocious.

Decent for the price, room was comfortable and despite it being above a pub, there (for the weekend I went at least) was not much noise. Staff were pleasant and everything was easy enough. The Italian restaurant there was nice and offers discount not you're staying at the property.
