Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was a little smaller than I expected for the price, there is also no air conditioning which could be a problem if it's very warm.
Beautiful hotel and wonderfully presented throughout. The staff on the reception were very helpful & friendly too. The room was well equipped, very comfy bed & the bathroom was lovely with walk in shower & complimentary toiletries. Full breakfast was served across the street in the most fabulous dining hall, definitely worth crossing the street!

United KingdomLovely sized and quiet room, which included a fridge😀 It was on a side street rather than main road. Location for central London, especially Great Ormond Street Hospital was good. Can’t comment on the breakfast as didn’t take it.

United KingdomWiFi didn’t work and not phone signal in the basement room so not good if you need to work there. No lounge in the building we were in. Courtyard view is very misleading, a close up of the neighbours and a fire escape would be more accurate. £50 security deposit taken on arrival. No room checks etc and they reverse it on leaving. Not sure what the benefit of that is other than more work for staff and angst for guests?
The decor in the room was lovely.

United KingdomShower mat needed - shower tray very slippy. No cupboards in bathroom for toiletries. Hotel itself a bit like a maze - quite difficult to find room.
Location - 10 mins from Russell Square Tube and close to good cafes. Quiet at night - very important. Nice bathroom, lovely shower. Plenty of towels - easy to have clean ones. Couldn't hear other guests. When I had a problem with the TV, staff came very promptly. All staff very helpful.

United KingdomThis is the worst stay we have had. There was glass on our carpet which we couldn’t pick up so the manager had to come late at night to vacuum our carpet while we pointed out lots of slithers of glass, we are assuming the previous guest broke a glass. Once that was all done there were people talking loudly in the courtyard area which kept us awake for hours. We couldn’t work out where they were otherwise we would have phoned reception for them to deal with it.
My sister and I have stayed there on a number of occasions and we are staying there in the future, we have family in the area and this is just perfect for us, lovely safe clean and friendly hotel handy for our family.

FranceOne thing I think could be improved is that the staff should be a bit more considerate about guests who are still sleeping in the nearby rooms, especially in the early mornings. When they arrive or start their day, it can get pretty noisy. Just a little more awareness would go a long way!
Our room was surprisingly spacious for London, and the bathroom was nice and big too. It's just a 15-minute walk from St Pancras, which is super convenient. We were able to drop off our luggage when we arrived, so we could head straight out to explore the city. They also let us do the same when checking out, which was really nice. Plus, Covent Garden is only about a 30-minute walk away, and let’s be real, when you’re in London, you do a lot of walking! 😂 Breakfast on the weekends is served in a lovely spot across the street, right in a beautiful park or square—it’s so green and inviting! Overall, I had a really pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s great value for money!

NetherlandsIt was very warm in our room on the third floor, no airco, just open windows and one old fan for three people. The bathroom was also very warm, with no window to get the hot moist air out. Keep this in mind when it’s hot in London and you cannot handle warmth.
Very nice staff, nice neighbourhood, good value, comfy beds!

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel is located in a few old Georgian buildings, so there’s no AC in the rooms. This wasn’t something I paid attention to when booking, but we happened to visit London during a heatwave this summer. On arrival, we were placed in a basement room with no view, and I immediately asked to be moved. There were no available rooms that night, but they offered to relocate us the next day. The following day, the reception staff showed me two options: one was in the modern extension at the back of the building, with no view and none of the historic charm we were after; the other was on the top floor - extremely hot, like an oven, and also with no AC. So we agreed that staying in the basement wasn’t such a bad idea after all… Until we discovered all the other features that come with “historic charm”: the heat, the noise from the street, and the fact that we couldn’t keep the windows open at night due to noise and safety concerns. There was no soundproofing and we could hear the ladies next door chatting and using a hairdryer at midnight, loud plumbing noises when they turned on the tap or shower, and the loud steps on floorboards above us. The bathroom had a persistent humid, moldy smell, despite the ventilation running day and night. The room was cleaned daily, but definitely not spotless. However, if you pointed something out, they would come and clean or fix it immediately. It might be okay for one night if you’re lucky with your room, but staying a full week was too uncomfortable for us. Overall, the hotel shouldn’t be rated four stars and feels overpriced. I also felt that images online were quite misleading.
Rather large size of the room. Staff was helpful and tried to accommodate all our needs. They also delivered our luggage to and from the room so we didn’t have to carry it on the stairs. Good location with quite a few good options for food and drinks in 10 min walk distance.
