How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A little expensive for this b&b Iv stayed it better b&bs for and hotels for a lot less.but I guess it’s because of the location they can put prices up .

No staff on site (next door between 4 and 6 for check in only, and then took a lot of time to organise requests like oat milk, decaff coffee or tea). Expensive for what it was. Breakfast was rather limited help yourself continental style. No lift, upstairs rooms.
Location was good, parking nearby was readily available (but you had to pay between 9 and 6). Room was ok.

Didn't like the floor below us stayed up all night, swearing shouting, etc. The toilet water kept rising, and the smell of smoke downstairs was very off-putting, so we never ate on the place. I wouldn't pay anymore than what we paid. I emailed to change the shared bathroom at the very beginning and emailed a second time to remind them. I was told I was lucky I reminded them, as that's not what I was getting. When I said oh I did email on booked she said aye emails get lost. I got a reply at the beginning, so it can't have been that lost.
Liked the area as it was handy for what we needed.

The tops were missing off the taps which made them difficult to turn on and off. We struggled to switch on the bedside lights. The overall impression was a bit outdated/shabby.
The accommodation was in a central location, the room was warm on arrival and we were able to park our bikes at the back of the building. The continental breakfast was well organised with cereal, toast, various jams and yoghurt in the fridge.

Host was extremely helpful and the location was great. Could do with a bit of upgrading but it is advertised as 2 star budget accommodation.

The staff had no solutions to offer for any difficulties such as the television not working didn’t offer to replace it with another one or two purchase a new remote or even show any interest so we didn’t get to watch any of the Olympics on those two nights. Staff need a bit more training in customer service
The location to the water and the harbour was very good. The beds were very comfortable and a good sized room. The breakfast was perfectly adequate as a continental breakfast.

Room could be cleaned cobwebs on ceiling No, Electric socket for kettle had to put kettle on floor to plug in kettle/ breakfast was self catering would’ve been handy if staff had been around as the milk was off /When arrived, no reception had to go next door to get keys for access to room other wise okay

Didnt appreciate the first roo we were give bed was sunk in middle, my sister sat on on edge and fell onto the back part, she just had major hip surgery in the last six weeks, she could hardly get back up, she was in pain for the rest ov the day. They gave us another room on top floor, so more stairs, not good for either one of us, I ended up with my 2 legs hurting due to the stairs, they are still sore today. The bed on the first was broken underneath once the manager lifted the matress. Shocking situation. We will never go back to the Glengorm guest house, such a bad experience.

The bed mattress was soft and sagged and the pillows were hard....... The WiFi was patchy with the best signal in the breakfast room.
Querky breakfast room furnished with a mixture of heavy varnished furniture, modern prints and slightly shaky chairs. The shower was good.
