Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom was a bit dusty and floor needed hoovering. Wasn't really cleaned during our week stay and some days the tea / coffee wasn't refilled or the wet towels replaced. No Tolietries provided, only hand-wash. The first morning breakfast was to order from a menu, then it was buffet style, which was good unless you wanted porridge etc as it was not provided. Extremely noisy, could hear people talking in rooms, glad I took earplugs or sleep would have been impossible.
Location was very good.

United KingdomThe top floor bedroom on 3rd floor has a huge 'slanty bit' by the ceiling when walking towards the tv, the bed and the window. Not safe for a tall person to walk to access the bedroom window and curtains. Maybe a sign 'mind your head' would be a great idea.
Quick check in and out. Close to everything meaningful. Public transport close by. Beach just down the road. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.

United KingdomBreakfast was not served until 0800, half an hour earlier would have been better. Although this did not affect me the split site, hillside location, steep steps and lack of a lift would not make this a great property for elderly or disabled guests and if travelling by private car parking in the vicinity could be a problem.
Ideal location roughly half way along Douglas Promenade with a bus stop for routes to most parts of the island within 100 Yards and electric tramway to the north of the island within half a mile. Cooked breakfast was excellent, sometimes buffet, sometimes waiter service apparently depending on number of guests. On one occasion when the room was not serviced the staff apologised immediately and made sure I had plenty of tea bags and milk for the rest of the stay.

Comfortable bed, nice spa bath and it was quiet. The breakfast was delicious, even though it wasn’t at the same place, just a couple of houses away.

United KingdomAs per usual with old wooden buildings you can hear everybody walking and talking in the other rooms that's why I always take gel ear plugs and then I have no problems.
Excellent shower, excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed.

United KingdomThe radiator in the room had a broken thermostat, though this could be mitigated by simply opening the window! (At Manx energy prices, this might pose more problems for the owners...) The building is a traditional-type B&B, with "Dutch" stairs and no lift, but I found an area downstairs to store my 25kg case, thankfully. The restuarant is located in a separate building about 100m up the hill. Again, this probably isn't a huge problem.
The room is clean and functional, well fitted and cosy, nothing major to fault.

United KingdomOnly 2 things: firstly the heating was set too high and I found I could not adjust the radiator in the room. (This was partly because the weather was so good I understand) but when I requested it be altered the dining room lady saw to it as soon as she could and it became comfortably cool. Secondly two safety issues..The hot water in the bathroom was very hot and probably nearly 50 degrees. This is too hot for elderly folk and a child guest could be scalded accidentally.. The banister to the first floor is unstable and has been propped up but it has not worked properly and a couple of the spindles need to be replaced. Only two things not bad going ! We really loved the holiday but the staff at the HQ made it special for us.
Breakfast was very good. Served fresh and hot and plenty of choice. Continental choice could have done with a couple of bread options. The service was excellent. Prompt and attentive. The lady started our day with smiles all round. The dining area was clean and well set out , but also homely enough to relax in. The staff were good at conversation and had excellent people shills.

United KingdomThe hot water from the basin tap was very hot and the room (205) might be a bit warm for some.
We wanted a functional B&B for our stay whilst competing in the Manx National Rally and Glen Mona met our requirements. We did not spend much time in out room other than to sleep/shower/etc. Due to our early starts we only had time for breakfast on one morning but the food and coffee was very good. The staff we all pleasant and helpful.

United KingdomThe shower tap was very difficult to open & close being very large & stiff to turn . Took a lot of time & effort to do . Would be very difficult for elderly or persons with problems of grip . Did complain but it did not seemed to be resolved . Room service was mixed but we had to ask for top ups one day ( fine ) Small tv on top of wardrobe , small selection of channels all free view ( but ok ) difficult to read subtitles etc sometimes . You had to sign in up the road not far ( ok if the weather is good ) No sea view ( if it’s important to you )
Location was good along the promenade , within walking distance to shops etc . Bus stop on the promenade close by . Room 206 was warm & comfortable but small with en-suite bathroom with good hot water . Facilities were ok a kettle & cups & tea , coffee & milk . Good Wi Fi. We did find on the ground floor a kitchen with a microwave which we used to heat up breakfast & evening meal ( unfortunately no toaster or fridge. But fine ). We were not expecting this so a real bonus . We did not use the breakfast or dinner menus ourselves but I understand they were good . Overall we enjoy our selves , was a quiet property , but we did have a couple of nights when neighbours were noisy ( not drastic ) For the price etc we were happy overall .
