If you have a bigger car, access to the parking lot and the small stalls may be tricky. Garden rooms backed onto the rail lines so there was some noise in the rooms but nothing earplugs couldn’t block out.

The property was close to shops, pubs and restaurants and a quick walk into the centre of Canterbury. The property was unique with a main house and separate garden rooms. Loved sitting in the garden in the afternoons and access to the honour- system bar in the evenings. Our room was quaint and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast which included fruit, cereals, tea or coffee, juices, and a choice of hot breakfast items made to order.

The guest house was near the railway station, but you did hear the trains going by. The rooms I believe were sound proofed, but you still could hear the trains, saying that we still slept.

The room was comfortable within a nice garden, you could make teas/coffee and top up as many times as you wanted. The breakfast was very good, the hot breakfast was supplied by a local butcher. All the staff were very nice. The location was near the railway station, and wasn't too far from the city centre.

We thought it was an extremely comfortable hotel with a very good breakfast as well as friendly staff. We appreciated the honesty bar and loved sitting in the quiet attractive garden away from the crowds especially as we stayed over a very hot weekend. We found the history of the hotel interesting. The hotel is in a great location - very close to Canterbury West Station and the city centre.

Nothing, though I’d mention a couple of wonky floors and the occasional low beam but nothing untoward for such an old building

Location is perfect, walking distance to Westgate. The staff were first rate very welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere was pretty special, very historic. We also loved the garden area which was calm and secluded, a little oasis.

We had a couple of minor issues whilst we were there but the owner sorted these out to our satisfaction.

The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the cathedral and has its own off-street car parking. Good cooked breakfast. We would stay again.
