Had to pay £10 for a padel bat, which was soaking wet. It was my birthday (said on the booking), no happy birthday, no room upgrade, or any token in my room. Just a - your rooms not ready yet! The room was up a flight of stairs which wasn’t mentioned at reception - so I’d declined when asked if I’d Like help with my baggage, it was also difficult for partner, I’d booked courtyard assuming it was at ground level, the website could be clearer regarding what rooms are where.

Room had lovely decor, tea/coffee cupboard with sink, massive bathroom with bath and shower. Breakfast excellent, and good padel courts. The hotel were accommodating about changing the booking for my son’s family who were sick.

The architecture and surroundings are just beautiful. Our room was one of the renovated rooms in the courtyard. Super cosy and comfy. It felt like home. It was like a studio loft. Very comfy king sized bed upstairs. Nice sofa, TV, study area and good amount of storage space downstairs. We loved the bathroom as well. The lounge area is wonderful. Food and service is really good and reasonably priced. This was our second stay at the hotel. Definitely we’ll come back again.

There is no air conditioning. We were given a room that was incredibly stuffy and were told there were no available rooms left that we could move into. They provided another fan on top of the one already in the room but they didn’t work very well and were very loud. We were provided buckets of ice to fill up the fans but they melted within minutes. After a few hours, we decided we were going to leave the hotel as the room was nearing 28 degrees. However after informing them that we longer wanted to stay, they were then able to offer another room that was fairly cooler. We decided to stay. Room service food is poor. Lots of wasps around this time of year which also dampened the experience.

There’s plenty to keep a toddler entertained for a few days. Soft play was great, the indoor pool was basic but did the job. Restaurant food was above average. Breakfast and high tea were pleasant and highlights for the adults.

Wrong room got the birthday treat and card! However he owned up and gave it to me !! He was in our party. The Bistro restaurant rather too busy really but was attached to the golf course. Meal in main restaurant very good but service a bit slow. Table in window ideal for our party.

Rooms opening onto lawn with swimming pool just nearby. Lunch served to us on 'our' lawn. Beds very comfy and shower excellent.

Not much in the way of entertaining kids when the weekend was very rainy. Room was old fashioned but we had a junior suite. Breakfast was average - not much of a spread and having to pay for latte / cappuccino etc on top of breakfast was ridiculous!

Facilities for children are great. 3 pools, indoor soft play and games room kept the kids entertained during a wet weekend

    - Things closed quite early - We were upgraded which was amazing however we were upgraded with a 2 year old to a room with a stair case - and no stair gate so it made our relaxing stay abit stressful trying to police our 2 year old in the room. -Shower wasn't good and we ran out of hot water. - Room was quite standard considering it was a suite. -Childrens play area and pavilion were really dirty when visited to pavilion after check in.

    - Lots of activities to do - Beautiful grounds - Good customer service -They left a special birthday message for my husband which was lovely.

One of the hotel guests complained about us, we were celebrating my birthday and that was very disappointing and almost ruined our stay. Other guests had a dispute which was nothing to do with us and in trying to assist them, another hotel guest complained about us and turned a blind eye to the arguing guests.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel room was very well equipped
