Some guests are quite noisy and insensitive letting doors bang when they come like almost midnight.

The location is superb! Close to amenities and has free parking.

The slamming doors was very noisy. There were doors slamming all night which was very annoying when trying to sleep.

It was clean and felt safe and was easy walking distance for the Festival events.

Doors were loud as they closed which could get frustrating if there were lots of people. The locks of the bathrooms were a little temperamental but overall it was great still.

The bed wasn’t really big enough for two people. The only other issue really was the whole hallway could hear everything that happened outside the rooms when people went to the bathroom or the kitchen.

It was pretty good value for money in general.

The fact that we didn't get two room keys, so it was a bit difficult to arrange going out separately because the key opens even the outside doors, so without the room key you cannot enter the building. The cleaning of the bathroom should be a bit often, or at least there should be some supplies so we can maintain it ourselves regularly.

Great staff, extremely helpful. Whatever we were asking for they searched online and they gave us the right informations. The kitchen is nice with all the devices needed.

The lack of large signage by the kitchen to stop people letting the kitchen alarm door going off Kitchen not very well equipped. Oven could do with more intuitive symbols.

Good value for money, considering how expensive accommodation is in Edinburgh. It was very clean, despite the fact that we had to share bathroom and kitchen with other rooms. The location is very good, close to Edinburgh castle and other places of interest. Very helpful staff.. All and all a basic but decent accommodation.

-The key card system for the doors is a little buggy and we’ve seen a few people get locked out of their rooms because their keycards or the locks on the doors malfunction (so… never go to the bathroom stark naked) -The kitchen (at least in block B, where we lived) was practically useless: apart from the fact that the entire room reeked very intensely of plastic, the microwave was pretty filthy, the stove had a security system on it that would randomly turn it off when it “overheated” (aka if you tried to boil pasta water) and it would take an annoying 5 minutes until you could turn it back on. -There’s around 5 glasses, cups and plates and 3 sets of cutlery for the whole kitchen, sooo if there’s more people staying in your shared apartment, it’ll be “first come first serve” :) -Lastly, and I see that this might not be problematic if you stayed here for an extended period of time and bought your own things, the kitchen comes entirely unequipped. There’ll be no salt, no oil, no dishtowels, just 1 pot and 1 pan. Usually, hostels will have at least some basics or leftovers from previous guests lying around. My recommendation here would be Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s Meal Deals (warm ones, with pre-cooked mashed potatoes or soups to warm up in the microwave).

Area is safe and extremely close to the city center (10min walk to get to the main touristy area) Staff are all very respectful, friendly and supportive Rooms are small and contain only the bare necessities (for hostel standards pretty decent, though!) and everything is pretty clean (again… for hostel standards!)
