The accommodation was spacious and spotlessly clean with an amazing view. The breakfasts were everything you could wish for with plenty of choice. Shirley and Nigel couldn't have been more helpful without being intrusive.

From the initial greeting to our departure Shirley and Nigel were fantastic hosts. They were attentive and thoughtful but never in your face. Breakfast was excellent with an impressive range of choices. The accommodation was clean and spacious. Arranging for us to have a meal at a local pub after our long journey was much appreciated. They were also generous in sharing their lovely garden. Indeed this was probably the best B&B we have stayed in for years, if not ever

Delightful hosts. Fabulous location overlooking meadows. Very quiet and peaceful. Our room had a spectacular view across the valley. Very comfortable, spacious bedroom with spotlessly clean and modern bathroom. Delicious and generous breakfast. Overall, a marvellous stay in an amazing area, close to Richmond and the rest of my favourite dale, Swaledale. We only had a short stay this time, but will certainly return to enjoy the thoughtful hospitality of our lovely hosts.

This is a lovely property in a beautiful location a 10 minute drive from Richmond. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable large bed and fantastic views. Our hosts, Shirley & Nigel were very welcoming and considerate. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and cooked to our taste. We would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful warm welcome from Shirley, the home made scones and jam were lovely. The spacious room was beautiful, the furnishings and decor throughout the whole house are so relaxing. The bed and linen were top quality a wonderful night's rest. The views from the huge bay windows in the bedroom and the area were stunning , I could sit and look out all day. It was a lovely touch that you could sit down stairs in a sitting room for guests. The breakfast was superb, relaxed and top quality local produce. The little touches like a scented rose from the garden and the bird feeders with a cheeky Robin, Bluetits and a Woodpecker started our day off perfectly. Thank you for making the last day of our holiday something special.

It felt like coming home after a long day of traveling. The hosts, Shirley and Nigel, and the house itself gave us both a warm hug. We stayed for a week to explore Yorkshire for the first time and it couldn't have gone better. The views around Ellerton lodge are breathtaking. The hosts are perfect, they enjoy meeting their guests and are also perfectly happy to leave you alone if that's what you prefer. We were after recommendations and Shirley and Nigel provided! As everyone else says, the breakfast is fantastic. Shirley takes enormous care to take into account any dietary requirements and the fruit spread is gorgeous. Nothing is overdone, which is why we felt at home, and everything is genuine. The bedroom was lovely, clean and comfortable, we spent some time reading with a cup of tea in the bay window while the rain was lashing down, just enjoying ourselves. Do yourself a favour and book this b&b

Shirley is so nice and friendly. We really enjyoed staying with her. The room is lovely with a bearutifu view from the window. The breakfast was delicious. we were relaxed and unwind. It was a lot of fun to have a chat with her as well.
