I did not like that opening the ground level door leading to the staircase with the keycard was a wee bit finnicky. The bathroom was a little small, but I guess that's just the best they could do with the space without compromising on other things. The beds are too comfortable. So comfy in fact that we overslept about one hour. Still no issues at checkout so all in all 9/10.

The staff was very friendly. Every Problem like storing Luggage before Check-in was taken care of, no questions asked. It was really seamless.

The hostel is just a few minutes from Princes street and around the corner from Calton hill, which gives great views of the area. Initially when I checked in, it seemed like I wasn't on the system, but eventually that was sorted. I was informed that I would need to change to another room on my last night, that really wasn't a problem. Just happy to have a stay, as the Fringe was happening and a big concert at Murrayfield ..... so it was busy in the town. The rooms were good and had its own toilet and shower.

If there is one thing, the separate shower room, whilst large had no shower curtain and water went everywhere. You had to hang clothes and towels up outside when showering, otherwise they got wet.

The location is spot on, easy walking distance to everything. It is great value for money, clean, and comfortable. All the staff on reception are amazing, so friendly and helpfull and suggested places to eat, and where to visit. Breakfast is an additional cost, there are two options a Scottish fry up or more basic cereal and toast at a reasonable cost. The lobby area is welcoming with plenty of comfy seating, free wifi, a bar, a restaurant. lounge area with sofas and tables, and a small library and tourist . luggage storage and there is a kitchen area in hte basement if you want to prepare your own food. There is a also a guest laundry which was out of order when we visited. The hostel is centrally located, and is easy to go out sightseeing. Close by are supermarket express shops, bars, restaurants, take aways, Greggs is opposite and there is Wetherspoons 5 minutes away. All in all, great value for money. Highly recommended.

If I was being picky for the size of the family room they could of added more hooks to hang towels or jackets and breakfast there was okay. Not bad value, but probably not the best quality.

Location of the hostel is very central, we got the the tram from the airport and there was stop very close to the hostel so that was really handy. Room was clean and comfortable be a bit basic was glad we booked an ensuite as that was nice to not have to share a bathroom. Walking to the central areas is also very easy, I would say probably 15mins up to the very central part of town. We also liked the shower room, thought it was designed very well with a nice powerful shower. And lastly was very appreciative that we could leave our luggage after checking out, which made our last day more enjoyable to explore.

Bed was to short for me, I'm 6ft and really couldn't get much room to sleep laying down, pillow was same thickness as quilt so ended up using quilt as a pillow. The outside bar area was ok, far enough from the road to enjoy a descent pint.

It was very warm during our stay and the room got hot very quickly. I don't imagine this is an issue that will present itself too often, but it was VERY hot in the mornings!

We had a private ensuite room and we found it very spacious, with plenty of room for our stuff. It was also very quiet at night and the staff were super friendly.

Difficult to load electric devices overnight as there weren't too many power outlets but still manageable; not really a bad thing.

My only complaint is that the doors to the rooms are very thin, so if anything is happening in the hallways you will hear it very well!

One of the receptionist was incapable of explaining what bus lines you should take to the main train station.

I spent a short night in Edinburgh Central Accommodation after a delayed flight that arrived at 1:30 am. ECA is extremely clean, roomy enough for six persons in a shared room with bunk beds and the water instantly hot. If you don’t mind sharing a room, it would be a lovely base from which to explore Edinburgh.
