How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewContinental breakfast suited us fine as we we cycling a lot. Location was excellent for Crinan canal and the Argyll Art open week locations. You also cannot move for ancient monuments and you can make yourself king at Dunadd hill fort. The pine martins were the cherry on the top of the cake.
Nothing.

Verified reviewA lovely quiet location within easy reach of the prehistoric sites of the Kilmartin valley. Our host could not have been more helpful, giving advice on local sites and was very happy to offer an alternative menu for breakfast which we had pre arranged with her. The room was very spacious and clean with a very nice en-suite bathroom.
No problems or issues!

Verified reviewLynn and Gordon are perfect hosts. Attentive, knowledgeable and go above and beyond. 6 stars! Spotlessly clean house and bedrooms overlooking ancient standing stones, well equipped, comfortable rooms; extensive, delicious continental breakfast; daily pine martin visits and located in the heart of a historical glen steeped in history with the local Kilmartin Museum just over a mile away and guided walks to the many standing stones and areas of historical significance. Nearby Crinan Canal and Knapdale Beaver Reserve, Dunnad Fort, Castles and much more. Lovers of nature, history, cyclists, walkers, hikers. Easy accessible to historical sites with many on flat terrain. Ample off road parking at accommodation and local sites of interest. Local Kilmartin Hotel has delicious extensive lunch and evening menu. Museum Bistro also first class. Perfect holiday. Will definitely return.
Nothing. Everything was absolutely first class Thankyou.

Verified reviewIt was a good continental breakfast. The owner was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the local area.
the road is busy but bedroom has double glazing. We were there on hottest day, possibly of the year and luckily no midges that night so we left the window open.

Verified reviewThe location was perfect for my interests. I loved being across from the standing stones, cairns, stone art, and a henge! The entire area is mesmerizing! The museum down the street is fantastic! The host, Lynn, is an absolute doll! She immediately made me feel at home and is an incredible wealth of knowledge, she’s a true gem! I’ll be spending more time there on my next adventure. It’s all so picturesque!! What a find!!! Thank you Lynn!

Verified reviewEverything I want from a bnb. Comfy bed, good breakfast, friendly host. Parking was at the bottom of the room's private staircase which was handy. The view was also great.
Nothing I didn't like. The shower pressure wasn't what I'm used to if I had to find something, but it got the job done.

Verified reviewPerfect location for neolithic/ Iron Age locations and also for nature, walking etc. A lovely warm and pristine accommodation with excellent shower and good WiFi. So close to many places we were spoiled for choice. A great welcome with information and ideas for our sadly short visit to this part of Scotland. It was good to see the pine Martens play and the variety of birds visiting the feeders just outside the windows.
The only downside was the breakfast. A good continental breakfast but sadly not the Full Scottish we were hoping for.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. Glad you enjoyed your stay and saw the Pine Martens. I am sorry you expected a full Scottish but it does say on our web site and on booking.com that we only do continental. Hope to see you again.

Verified reviewThe host, Lynn, was very welcoming, friendly and obliging and instantly made you feel at home. The bedroom was very clean, the beds were comfy, all the facilities you need and a spotless en-suite - in fact the whole place was immaculate. Great views from the bedroom window across open fields. From the dining room you could watch a wide range of birds on the feeders just outside the window. We were also lucky enough to see our first pine-martin, which Lynn encourages into the garden along with all manner of other creatures. Breakfast is continental style with a good choice of cereals, fruit, breads & drinks and more items available on the menu provided. The property's easily accessible as it's situated on a main road but there's no shops, restaurants or the like nearby but plenty a short drive away. There's several ancient monuments in the area and on of them, some 'standing stones', can be seen right opposite the property. This place is run by a lovely lady who clearly has high standards, evident from the moment you walk in. It has to be one of the nicest places we've ever stayed at, if not the nicest, and we would certainly book-in again if visiting the area.
You have to look hard to find anything to complain about but to be pedantic the en-suite door was difficult to close and needs some adjustment.

Verified reviewVery conveniently located for our purposes. The lady of the house was very kind and attentive to our comfort. The continental breakfast was simple but perfectly healthy and sufficient. A short stay, but we would certainly consider returning. Adequate parking space, and easily located close to road, although not noisy.
Nothing really!

Verified reviewBrilliant location. I stayed here last October and enjoyed so much that I returned. Lynn is a lovely, thoughtful host. Freshly chopped fruit with cereals and she ensured there were vegan options for me too. Lots of information on local walks and places to visit and eat. Quiet and comfortable. Totally recommend . I had the room overlooking the standing stones, and there were beautiful sunsets. Last time i visited Kilmartin museum and explored the standing stones and sites. This time I went to the coast more...I recommend heading to Crinan and doing a boat trip with Venture West. Views were stunning all along the coastline! Kimory beach was also beautiful
No issues, a very thoughtful host
