How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very quiet and lacked atmosphere. Appreciate this is no fault of the hotel.However the main complaint is that as an ex Brakspears Brewery it did not sell Brakspears and limited beers .

Unfortunately no one mentioned the building works going on. It was strange to have a fan switched on in the room without any explanation Walking over plastic sheeting to access the room. Mattresses a little soft for me but that’s my personal choice. Continental breakfast ridiculously expensive, plenty of cafés locally to buy coffee and croissants for less which is a sad reflection on the hotel.
Good location, good size of hotel and room. Clean enough with decent facilities. Plenty of hot water. Staff pleasant.

It was exceptionally difficult to in the car park
Full of character ideally placed for the town centre and river. Helpful staff. Excellent, cooked to order breakfast. Wonderfully comfortable 6’ bed. Quiet. Car park.

In the Taylor room just the floor of the shower otherwise everything was just fine.
Beautiful property. Excellent location enjoyed the breakfast and dinner one night. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The shower area needs to have a slip resistant floor as even the mats still caused you to be very cautious.

The outdoor patio is open to the public, lots of local hang out every day with dogs and smoking. Love dogs, but they were on the patio furniture and some small dogs aggressive. Way too much smoke

The stairs and lack of assistance to take Luggage upstairs
We loved the property and staff. Lots of stairs to carry suitcases… and they do not have staff assisting. They clean the room every day

Aircon was ineffective. Dormer windows rattled in the wind. Most of the hotel taken over by a wedding party in the courtyard, so everyone had to listen to that until around midnight.
Staff were very helpful. Bedding felt luxurious. Room was large and well appointed.

The only negative was that they allow dogs to stay, which is fine if they're well behaved. There was a dog in the room next to us who was barking all night long which disturbed our sleep. When we told the lovely lady at reception she apologised and said these owners have been told a number of times not to leave the dog in the room unattended but they keep doing it. We were offered a free upgrade on our next stay but I don't understand why these guests keep being allowed to stay with their noisy dog & disrupting other guests sleep?
Beautiful hotel, perfect location in the heart of Henley, lovely relaxing bar area, very friendly staff. Our room was beautiful, with a massive comfortable bed, big free standing bath, large shower and lots of other amenities like bathrobes, slippers, tea, coffee & hot chocolate (we don't drink tea/coffee & hotel rooms very rarely provide hot chocolate), biscuits, iron & ironing board, bottle opener, etc. Free secure parking.
