The room was a bit too hot, but we did have a mini heat wave which was lucky- This made being outside wonderful but the room was extremely warm, but you can’t have everything! Air con unit wasn’t really doing much- pushing the warm air around and the windows only open a small way for safety. The bed was a little too hard for our liking. Perhaps an optional mattress topper and a mini fridge to keep drinks cool?

Beautiful views and surroundings with plenty to do if you enjoy activities and water sports. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel- activity staff, wee shop, reception, restaurant. All in all a really great hotel in a beautiful area. Canoe with a view was really fun and seeing the seals topped it off.

There was a wedding taking place the next day when we tried the takeaway and the service was slow. We couldn't get in the restaurant at all that evening. The main issue we had which wasn't exactly the hotel's fault was that it wasn't really geared up for guests arriving by public transport. We struggled to get a taxi to the nearest station (Arrochar & Tarbet) and the staff, though willing, were unable to help. There is a bus service in theory, but I think there was only one bus a day. The problem appeared to be that there was a one-man business locally, but otherwise taxis have to be brought in from as far as Helensburgh some 30 miles away and drivers aren't too keen to do it. If you can find a cab, it's pretty expensive (we paid £50 one-way).

Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was tasty and reasonably priced, and of course the location was amazing. We tried the takeaway and that was good too. The staff were very helpful.

Fresh, clean and lovely people, but the interior corporate and bland. You could tell it was owned by an American company. Nothing wrong with that - in America. Felt like it had been ‘flown in’ from the States and out of place in an area of outstanding Scottish landscape. Awkward looking place, like a person climbing a mountain in a business suit.

Good disabled facilities and really caring nice staff

Uncomfortable bed - ok if you like a super firm bed, we don't. Noisy air con fan.

Beautiful surroundings, LOTS to do both within the resort and surrounding area. The food at The View is good value and tasty. Hotel staff were lovely. The rooms are spacious with great views. The whole resort was spotless. The little shop was well stocked, easonably priced and friendly staff.

No Ac in the rooms, fans provided were ineffective- uncomfortable nights sleep. No shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom. For £180/ night I expect these as a minimum.
