In a great location near the Waverly train station and walking distance to all of the Edinburgh attractions, restaurants, shops. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Lift was not working so need to climb stairs.

Rooms are big and have a special vibe. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Lounge facility with coffee and sweets are available for guests. Delicious breakfast included. Good location. Friendly and helpful staff who helped us to carry the luggage up and down. There was also complimentary beer when we first arrived.

No AC in the room!! we used the fan, but it was still too hot on August. However, the place was so perfect to us, so it didn't affect our good experience.

It was everything I hoped it would be, and very true to description on site - a cool unconventional place, very comfortable and a well equipped room. Location is perfect - just between old and new city, and near the train station. Has a private lounge for hotel guests as well as access to the public bar, and performance's place (we stayed during the fringe festival). Friendly staff, great breakfast too.

I didn't like how the elevator was out of service. It meant I had to carry some really heavy luggage on my way down during checkout! Worth it though.

The rooms, food, location, beer, and vibes are amazing. In particular, I like how the hotel is walking distance – even with luggage – from the train station, but not in a touristy spot. With just a 10-15m walk, you can get to the heart of tourism.

There wasn’t a power outlet in the bathroom the I could use for my blow dryer unfortunately so I had to do my hair in the entry/living room area. Not a big deal but also not convenient.

Location was fabulous! It was a great base for exploring the old town. We loved the relaxed vibe and the staff were very friendly.

All time that I was there they run out of sparkling water.

The room is amazing great place for Beer lovers with 24 hours snacks, breakfast serves until 3pm. Great location very welcoming staff.

Suspicious peanuts under the table when we arrived maybe suggested a lack of detailed cleaning but the rest was spotless.

Spacious duplex suite. Great styling - loved the record player and vinyl that was there. The complementary guest area and drink on arrival was an unexpected bonus. Helpful friendly staff.

Small things in the room could be fixed - water from shower leaks to floor, lower banister is loose, scratches on the walls. Also, breakfast could include some freshed items such as yoghurt/berries/oats.

We LOVED the Doghouse - I've rarely seen such attention to brewdetail 🙂. The room is huge, bed comfy, drinks extremely drinkable and staff genuinely welcoming. Special thanks for vinyl selection, started off playing Screamadelica loud.

The room was very hot, even with the windows open. A fan was provided but I think at this price air con is required. There also isn’t a coffee machine in the room, and a few of the walls needed some paint touch ups.

Loved the interiors, guitar and beer bits.

It was perfect!!!

The staff were so friendly and engaging!!! It felt like more of an old fashion guest house than hotel!!! Lots of space made available while you stay- communal area was great. The room was exactly what we imagined! Very comfy bed and lovely soft towels! And breakfast in bed was a real treat!!!
