There was absolutely nothing not to like about the property itself ! (Unfortunately the immediate surroundings , which would have been policy parks in bygone days, had been somewhat neglected by neighbouring landowners.)

An incredible property, incredibly presented ! Furnished to a very high standard, with antiques and collectibles with style giving an impression of quiet opulence,

We had a wonderful stay at Disblair House! The breakfast was absolutely lovely—fresh, abundant, and nicely presented. Chris and Karolyn were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The whole place had a very peaceful and quiet atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing break. The bed was very comfortable, and the house itself had such a warm, charming feel. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a restful and peaceful getaway.

    Nothing

This B&B is a beautiful historic building set in the quiet countryside in a secluded setting. Karolyn and Chris have maintained the period character of the property, particularly in the sitting and dining room. Disblair House is ideal as a base for exploring the NE coast.

    absolutely nothing

We loved every aspect of this house. The nicely furnished and decorated rooms with en suite bathrooms, the overfriendly owners and sweet dogs and above all: the delicious and abundant breakfast. We were treated like royals. I would like to give an 11 out of 10, for the first time ever!

Very welcoming, very quiet and peaceful location in a character property which we like. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a large en-suite, microwave, fridge and tea-making facilities. Our German Shepherd dog settled very quickly and appreciated the lovely well-kept grounds. The breakfast was more than you’d expect with a huge amount of choice and cooked to order. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. This was our third stay within a 12 month period and we have a fourth planned. It is a gem of a property.

This house is an almost 500 years old gem, loaded with history. Madam Karolyn is an exceptional host and she treated us like kings and queens. Our only regret was to not have planned a longer stay !

Can’t think of a single thing to dislike

Disblair House is simply magical. Every room abounds with hidden treasures to delight the senses, the hosts are the most lovely, hospitable people you’ll ever meet, the dogs are wonderful, the grounds are beautiful and lovely to wander, and the breakfast spread was, by far, the absolute best we’ve ever had at a B&B (and we’ve stayed at many over the years).

There was nothing to not like. The rooms, the bathroom, the lounge room with the fireplace were excellent. Breakfast was amazing. Every nationality and tastes were carefully catered for. Karolyn and Chris were perfect hosts. Their knowledge of the area and surrounds was very valuable. Would highly recommend.

    Nothing to dislike.

We liked everything about the house, very old listed B property with a wealth of history. We were in the family room, which had everything you could possibly need during your stay. Our room had a fridge and microwave, trouser press along with iron and ironing board. The bed had an electric blanket and we even had a settee. Karolyn supplied fresh milk and bottled water every day with an array of different teas and decaf options. The bathroom was large with bath and walk in shower etc. The food choice was exceptional, there was a continental breakfast which was vast and followed by a full cooked breakfast which was chosen from a list along with toast, croissants butter and jams. Karolyn and Chris were lovely hosts along with their two friendly dogs.

The WiFi was rather intermittent but not much that the owners can do about this due to location and thickness of walls

Lovely, homely guest house with very friendly owners. Loved the open fire in the resident's lounge and the breakfast was really excellent. Bed was very comfortable and I had a great stay
