The rooms were a little dated and the walls very thin. The next door room turned on loud music at 11:00pm and kept a conversation going until after midnight. There were many children running in the corridor early morning and late at night.

The location is very nice with views overlooking the Chess valley. The house is historic. We had some nice walks around the estate and surrounding property. The swimming pool looked good but we did not use. Breakfast was fine but not great.

My room was in the Annex. Reached by a spiral staircase but was very well appointed. Need to take rainwear for walk from Car park to room. Breakfast efficient buffet but not exciting.

Excellent rural location. Complex included an historic country house. Staff helpful Easy parking.

Room was probably a bit to warm, but can’t blame the hotel for our exceptional weather we have been having

Breakfast was probably up there with the best, breakfast area, staff, and variety on offer. I couldn’t fault it. Well done to all involved

The room was perfectly adequate - not massive, but with everything necessary - apart from no aircon (there was a fan). The breakfast in the dining area was good. The library where we had drinks and snacks one evening is wonderful.

Bed room window had cobwebs. I don't understand why they had so many wasps, outside the garden were we were eating.. nothing can be done about it.

I like the bar 🍸 and the 🏋️‍♀️ gym .the garden was amazing, and the staff were polite. The room was nice. Outside the building was fantastic. Breakfast was amazing,

A wedding took place on the Friday night during our stay. By 9am the next morning the lawn was still strewn with leftover food, drinks, rubbish and several piles of broken glass. Our food also took a while to arrive on the Friday evening, but when it did, it was nice.

Beautiful property, we had a lovely room in the mansion house. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Great pool.

The Mews building isn’t great, as a solo female traveller I’m not keen on being over in a separate building to the main hotel. Any time I’m in the main building I have a lovely stay. Note - NOT soundproofed rooms which means a good night sleep isn’t guaranteed I’m afraid.

Beautiful grounds for an evening walk Breakfast is always incredible!

Reading some of the previous comments, if I had taken them to heart, I wouldn't have enjoyed the experience. Was a busy weekend at the restaurant. Once seated, it seemed like we were forgotten for a while. The food was ok. The cheese cake with Latimer honey was very nice!

We stayed in the main house in a lovely suite. The room was clean and had plenty of tea/coffee options. Mentioned it was my husband birthday when booking. received a card on the bed acknowledging his birthday and tokens from reception for cocktails. Thank you! Lovely cooked breakfast with good options.Received a walking trail map of the estate we went on the Hare trail, very nice shaded by trees as it was a hot day! Place's to sit on the trail. Lovely pool and gym didn't get the opportunity to use either. Maybe next time 😊

A bit far from nearest town and roads not suitable for walking. Need transport/taxi if you wanted to eat outside of hotel. We ate at hotel restaurant as it was taking too long to get a taxi. Food was good but service was really poor. Don't know if they were just short staffed - we ordered our food but then had to fetch someone to take our drink orders. We asked for desserts, waitress went to fetch menus but never returned to us.

Beautiful setting, charming and spacious bar and dining areas. Lots of spaces where you could just sit and relax or have a quiet walk around the grounds. Excellent facilities (i.e. gym, swimming pool). Really good breakfast.

Room was small and dark. No bedside lamp/table. Breakfast needs timed slots, people waiting for tables and long queues for hot food.

Whilst the images of our room on our booking showed and outside area as part of our room, unfortunately this doesn't appear to be the case. However, we didn't complain as the room absolutely had a view, and was in a central location for the pool, reception and breakfast. We happed to come during a heatwave, and unfortunately the rooms don't have aircon. There was a fan which did a good job, but when all the air is hot there's only so much it could do. This was probably our biggest complaint, as it made the nights very uncomfortable. The room could have also done with a better hoover around skirting boards, as there were leaves on the floor. Other than this it was spotless, and cleaned daily besides perhaps hoovering.

Every member of staff was incredibly friendly and nice, and it made our stay feel even more premium. The pool and gym were great, very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious, buffet style with lots of choice, everything tasted high quality and well cooked. The view and grounds were lovely, and being able to sit looking out onto the countryside in the bar was exactly what we wanted. There were also lots of parking spaces close to the reception, which made coming and going easier.

Small thing, it would have been nice to have an outside sign to the Dining / Breakfast room so that you can walk outside to the back rather than walk through all the inside corridors of the Hotel
