Bed was not very comfortable, but could just be personal preference. The suite was at the front of the building on a very busy road.

We were upgraded to the Rickerby Suite which was a lovely surprise. It had a separate lounge and included a very nice free standing bath in the bedroom as well as a shower room.

Supper was a bit disappointing. The starter and my wife's meal were okay, but I had a pizza, which really was not up to scratch. Not exactly unpleasant, but very unimpressive. Our room was overlooking the main road through the town towards Scotland, so a bit noisy even in the middle of the night

We only stayed one night, but the room was comfortable, and all we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Easy 20 walk down to the river, and from there into the town (though coming back is all uphill!).

Some refurbishment/investment would improve the bedrooms - a tough ask in these financial times !!

Great location within walking distance of city centre. Spacious car park to the rear of the property. Reception was easy to find and staff were friendly and helpful. Our room on the ground floor was a little small but fine for one night. The beds were comfortable and shower good. Considering the hotel was very busy we heard no noise in the evening or during the night. Breakfast was ok ( hot buffet).

The bathrooms are a little tired

The very warm and helpful staff. The young gentleman that dealt with us at reception was a perfect example of how to deal with guests . Warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. Great breakfast again staff at breakfast were very warm and welcoming and the bread was excellent

My brother did not get a good nights sleep as the tv screen came on at 2am and illuminated the room. He switched it off with the remote control. Same happened at 4am after this time he couldn’t get back to sleep. He switched tv off at the mains.

Clean, comfortable well looked after. Lovely food in the restaurant and breakfast. Great location city centre and park in close proximity. Car parking at no extra cost. Fantastic. Would definitely go here again.
