The curtains had to be pinned together as they had come off several hooks. Don't expect traditional Scottish hospitality.

Location is great, on the bus route and with numerous pubs, cafes, restaurants nearby. You can walk to the Castle. It's an average guest house but clean and comfortable. Parking is outrageously expensive during daytime hours so park away from the area. The room had a mini fridge which was great.

My only issue was that my bathroom was located outside of my room, across the landing on the same floor. I was of the understanding that it was an ensuite. The room was clean and comfortable although the bathroom was quite old and tired.

The breakfast was fantastic and location was a little out of town but accessible via bus. Staff were lovely.

Some minor repairs and maintenance would bring the rooms up to a great level. One squeaky bed, bathroom lock was intermittent.

Nice guest house not far away from Bruntsfield and the Meadows. Family room with three beds and ensuite bathroom. We had a great two nights here and enjoyed a good breakfast each morning, freshly prepared. Free parking on the back streets for the weekend as a bonus.

Good. I needed an overnight stay to catch my 4 day Highlands tour in the morning. Had to take Uber to the Bus Station as it is not a walkable distance. Good value for money. I did not have a breakfast - needed to leave before it was available, but they gave me some orange juice to go. My room had no attached bathroom, so I had to go out into the hallway one shared with the staff I think. Take care not to lock yourself out when you go to the bathroom :)

The very small bathroom could do with a hook on the back of the door, and the shower cubicle needs a soap dish of some sort. Little things but they make a difference.

Honestly I don't think there was anything that we could fault. The building is a little old so the floorboards creaked a little in the room which worried us in case it was loud for the people below.

Both Mobin and Alisha were very warm and welcoming and were very attentive to what we needed. The room was very clean and modern and we couldn't fault the cleanliness. It was great value for money and breakfast was delicious and there was a great atmosphere at breakfasts. Cruachan was well placed with great bus links or a 20 minute walk into Edinburgh centre and there were some great coffee shops and food places within walking distance. The bed was comfortable

The room was way too small as was the en-suite. The bed was terrible, it gave me a back ache but I have a susceptible back. It didn’t affect my husband.

The beds are SUPER soft and noisy...Maybe some people like soft beds...but that was the only real downside. I would suggest some music at low volume in dining area. It's a bit small in THAT room and a little music would help make it more comfortable..

Owner seems a nice guy...will cook you a great breakfast. Room we had was actually rather large for that area. I knew this before we booked...it's a bit old...even hot and cold water are separate as to the sink. A relatively quiet street...pretty good location. Owner was very kind...I mis-read checkout time..he let me stay a1/2 hour extra no charge.no complaints..

The bedroom window needed maintenance. It didn't open/shut properly which meant that we didn't dare risk opening it which was a bit of a problem as it got very hot in the room. The lock on the door to the room was also a little bit temperamental.

The location was excellent and the view out of our bedroom window was fantastic. The bathroom was very spacious. The staff were friendly and we liked the fact that the breakfast was cooked fresh for you.

The lady who cooked breakfast was lovely and made great scrambled eggs. The single room was very small with no wardrobe and the shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold, that needs sorting. However, I liked the vibe.
