The staff were what elevated our stay beyond our expectations as was the food which was utterly delicious- still talking about the homemade ice cream and desserts…

Can't think of anything we didn't like! If I had to be picky it would be for the bathroom toiletries to have included body lotion.

The rooms are set around a very pretty courtyard with tables and chairs to relax. The room was well furnished and very clean with good toiletries in the bathroom and a good shower. Food in the pub was excellent and staff very friendly.

The only let down was the speed of service and service provided at the bakery bit the following morning. Food and coffee was nice however.

The gardens were beautiful and the rooms nicely decorated. There was a lady working in the bar and restaurant who was excellent. She was very knowledgable, her service was great and really made the experience. Food was very good and reasonable.

Our room wasn't serviced whilst we were out because there was only 1 set of keys which we had. It meant we didn't have fresh towels, coffee and milk as we didn't find out until after the bar had shut and staff had left. This did not ruin our stay though.

The staff were lovely, we stayed for Battle of the proms at Highclere castle and arrived back to a lovely reception from the bar staff.

Bed was a little firm for us. Heating in bathroom could do with being switched off. Other then that it was brilliant.

Everything. Staff where great. Room was great. Food was fresh and good value. Nothing was to much trouble. Love dog which was great for us. So accommodating. Just a brilliant place with loads of walks and first class place to stay. We will definitely come back to stay again!

If I was being critical. The sealant around shower and sink could do with changing, gone a bit mouldy and towels had seen better days. BUT and big but it was great value for money and paid more and stayed in worse places and certainly wouldn't put me off going again. All in all it was well worth it.

In the middle of no-where although only 4 miles from Hungerford. Lovely peaceful setting not a sound at night with window open. . The rooms are chalet style set round a lovely courtyard that doubles as the on-site coffee bar seating area during day. The room was big with large comfortable bed and nicely decorated. Large walk in shower and separate storage area. Bar area very nice and nice outdoor covered seating area. food was lovely and staff were friendly and very dog friendly also. Stayed one night to go walking. North downs is lovely walk and also lovely canal walk 10 mins away to Hungerford.

In a country that’s gradually getting warmer air Con would be nice. The room was very warm at night. We didn’t want to open the windows as we were very close to the garden and the thousands of insects enjoying the flowers. Neither of us like spiders. The one and only thing I can say if the sealant on both sink and shower need removed and replaced. Green and mouldy and spoils the lovely bathroom.

Lovely rural location. Beautifully renovated. The gardens were so lovely. Comfortable beds, fabulous shower. The food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. Ideal for the purpose of our trip-to visit Highclere Castle :)
