Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaStaff need better customer services an all be on the same page . One night was able to book meal n etc to my room number an was paid for at the end of the evening , all good 👍 2 nights later drinks had to be paid for at the bar each time and meals paid for before table service would take our order . I question the 2 different standards as was told that we are in the middle of changing management ? 🤔 Being our 1st trip to Scotland n knowing the area better there is so many other accommodation choices for next time.
Meals are good.

United KingdomEvening meal menu very limited.
The staff were really attentive, they were very helpful and a friendly bunch, nothing was too much trouble. You could see that they were rushed at times too, but they always had time to assist with any query. They really made a great stay. Breakfast was as expected. No frills but enough to eat. We were looking forward to a relaxing meal and time in the hotel restaurant and bar, so intended to eat for the evening during our stay, but the menu was very very limited to just 2 choices and so we opted to go into Fort William. But, it was a comfortable clean stay for 1 night.

United KingdomWe got a phone call from Booking.com the night before we were due to arrive saying there was a problem with our room and the only option left for us was a twin room without a sea view and whilst it wasn't ideal, they'd provide us with a bottle of wine as an apology, we don't drink! They then said they'd give us dinner, breakfast and £50 back. The twin room was very dark with a view of the fire escape at the back of the hotel. As a couple, sleeping in single beds was just odd and didn't make for a comfortable nights sleep. We did look into having dinner there but there was a distinct lack of options to choose from so went into Fort William. We've still not had the £50 back.
We booked a double room with a loch view without breakfast and were very much looking forward to our stay due to the location & value for money. Location was as expected, opposite Loch Linnhe on the edge of Fort William; ideal. Hotel was pretty clean as was the en-suite. We did end up having breakfast in the end and it was nice with quite a few options to choose from.

United KingdomBreakfast was a little disappointing. Toast cold and burnt ... the coffee was not good at all. The bacon was bland and no flavour and all had seemed to be prepared well ahead and now a little stale.
Nice room and nice view... Bed was comfortable and room was adequately clean and comfortable.

United KingdomThe hotel is somewhat out of date and could benefit from a major renovation in order to attract more tourists/guests. The walls are extremely thin, so you can hear conversations from all directions throughout the day and night, making it harder to get to sleep.
The hotel itself is situated in a lovely spot over-looking Loch Lynne and is not too far from Fort William either. Parking was free of charge too with no complications :)

United KingdomI used to go to to boarding school and hated the mass breakfast cooked well before eating and then on your plate in seconds greasy with cheap products- guess what the breakfast is like here??? I appreciate they have a lot of breakfasts to do but it wasn't nice. The only thing worse than the breakfast was the waiters attitude and the way he spoke to us! Don't like your job? Get another 1!! Apart from that no complaints about the room!
The room was large and clean with an excellent shower. The men on reception were nice too

United KingdomThere was a large cobweb in the bathroom and one of the drawers in the bedroom had a large open pack of watsits inside, which may have been there for weeks. Our room overlooked the carpark, and both nights we were woken at 5:30am by people getting into their cars to head off, talking loudly. Cooked Breakfast was fine…but came out very quickly (in under 2mins) so had obviously been cooked earlier and kept under a hot warmer.
The staff were friendly, the beds were comfortable, the rooms were a good size, the shower was large and water was nice and hot after our walk up Nevis. The location is good, views from the restaurant lovely, and there was even a chance to do some reeling on Sat night - an activity put on for the bus loads of older (65+) people staying there that weekend.
