Ben was a wonderful host and could not have been more helpful. The view from our room was spectacular 😊

Advance warning of staircase may have be helpful for future. Larger bath towel would be good and a cotton bath mat.

It is olde worlde charm and has a lot if character. The staff were all outstanding and so very welcoming. We arrived on the night of the bad storm in August and the power was out, the kitchen staff prepared a seafood platter that was absolutely top class and a meat and cheese platter that was just as good. Meanwhile the lady who was hosting us ran around making sure everyone was ok. Considering the circumstances the staff made the stay special. Top response to an unplanned disaster, well done to all and we will come back

It would be unfair to point anything out given the power cut

Loved the property, the rooms were quaint but comfortable and the food was good.

Communication with the owners. We repeatedly asked to change our booking from 2 nights to one night. This was through emails, calls and also in person. We were assured it would be sorted but were still charged for two nights. I have attempted to contact the owners again since the stay to resolve the issue but have heard nothing.

Beautiful historic inn in lovely convenient location - we were travelling in by car from Glasgow for 1 night. We stayed in the pod - “snuggle doon”, which was very comfortable and clean and just above the pub overlooking the water. We brought our own food which we were able to prepare easily using the kitchenette in the pod. It had a double hob, kettle, toaster and basic cooking equipment. We went for a few drinks and some chips at the pub. Staff very relaxed and friendly and other folks at the pub friendly too, had a nice vibe. We are an interracial lesbian couple, adding this for those who will find this information helpful. Went for a paddle in one of their kayaks in the morning, which was very easy to arrange. Will definitely be going back sometime.

Nothing really. Our chips took a while to come but when we reminded them about our order they were with us in just a few minutes. It’s right by the road, which was a little busy at certain points during our stay, so this may bother some. Road noise wasn’t a problem for us for sleeping.

Lots of history in the Inn being from the 17th century and great viewa over the lake. Quiet and remote - very scenic. We stayed only one night but the rooms were clean and well equipped. Comfy beds and good shower. There is a bar open until 10:30pm with locals and guests and a restaurant serving a varied menu. Food and service were both good. Staff attentive and welcoming. The Inn is said to be haunted by the ghost of a child who drowned in the lake (the blue child) but we didn't see or hear anything. It adds to the folklore though :)

    Nothing, it was perfect.

Beautiful location on the side of Lock Eck. Big comfortable rooms

We might have caught them on a bad day but we ended up waiting 2 hours for the correct food order (2 pizzas). The staff didn’t seem to know what was going on. It was a shame. The room was comfortable but loud noises throughout the night from traffic and other guests.

Sandra and Carl were amazing hosts and Lorraine was also amazing! They made us feel welcome from the start, this made it feel like a home away from home. The food was absolutely delicious, we had both breakfast and evening meals for all 3 days and they were fantastic, we could not fault anything.

Having to leave at the end of the stay!

Where it was a beautiful location. Staff were great. Run off their feet . Evening very disappointed .my husband ordered chicken pasta with garlic bread, and it was special . The chicken was definitely not chicken .it looked like veg meat and one tiny slice of garlic bread . The curry was average ..

Food was ok .great place to stay for one night . It is no good if you have mobility issues . The stairs getting up to the room .awful .

The location is beautiful, the staff were very informal and charming. Nothing was to much trouble. We had a power cut for an extended period, the staff went and got torchers, made dinner, it was really lovely.

First impression were great, a lovely little Inn right on the water was breath taking - although parking did have its challenges it was genuinely not worth making a negative mark about. Upon entering the inn, we were greeted by a very upbeat and friendly member of staff (sorry didnt get his name) however gave us a little bit of a history lesson about the Inn, insisted on taking our bags up the steep but safe stairs and ensured we got into our room hassle free. Upon entering the room, we were so pleased to see it had some original charm to it, the room itself was quite small however fine for a couple staying one night. The TV albeit quite small provided a modern feature (one I dont find get in most hotels) Netflix and Prime - great for some late night viewing while seeing the loch in the background We didnt use the restuarant or the bar but seemed to have a genuinely good vibe about it as we came back from dinner Overall it was a great room and staff were great, but a few areas in particular dampened the overall experience 7/10 overall still

Only negatives were No Breakfast - it said on my purchase that breakfast was included; I wasn't actually aware that we werent getting breakfast and a little disappointed, felt we overpaid to include the breakfast but had to go elsewhere and pay additional for a breakfast - I cant see any communication where it says no breakfast available Rubbish in the bins - small thing but still rubbish in the bin from previous guests, while hygiene wasn't a concern for me as everything else looked really clean, it could be forgiven if that was missed what else was - this included a water bottle behind the bedside cabinet No blind for the shower - The shower / bath was right at the window and again the view was spectacular but the right hand side window was missing which looked straight on to the road - this really impacted any privacy and actually stopped me from having a shower before leaving - I made a make shift blind with a towel but it would have been nice to have been made aware of this.

    Beautiful location.

The room hadn’t been cleaned properly. There were SO many hairs in the bath (long and short), hairs all over the throw as if it hadn’t been washed from previous guest, dead bugs along the windowsill, dead fly squashed against the toilet basin and the ceiling. We were really disappointed by the overall cleanliness and pride taken in the room. One window in the bathroom was missing a blind which was awkward and all the blinds were filthy.

Oddball charm! Quirky historic building in a wonderful location. Surrounded by forest and lovely, thoughtful birdfeeder set out the back which has a webcam. Hopefully the webcam will be available to live stream on the website at some point. You couldn't be any closer to the beautiful Lock Eck, but be aware it is on a main road, pro:it is very easy to drive to and has good parking, con: heavy vehicles passing 24/7, so bring your earplugs.

We did experience some issues with facilities. However, once brought to staff attention they were quickly addressed. Thank you! The hotel facilities on Booking.com shows 'breakfast boxes', which is misleading; this is not the case. There are no breakfast options. There is also no one on site in the morning time so be sure to ask for any extras like a hairdryer the evening before you need it. The building has difficult stairs and heavily sloped eaves in the upstairs rooms, befitting of a lovely old building, so you do need to be agile to move around the room without hitting your head. Cleanliness could be improved. Some quirks are to be expected in such an old building, but even in the new glamping pod there was a mess of cobwebs around the bed, the bedding & towels smelled musty. Minor niggles which could easily be improved
