Breakfast presentation didn’t look as it used to on previous visits and Slightly less choice. Also noticed less help towards customers ie asking them What they want and how to use the tea/coffee machine. People just left to get on with it which didn’t happen in previous visits

Food in the restaurant was very average and there were limited staff around for check-in and to take bar/food orders.

Not much to mention here. Its a bit far out if you were visiting Reading itself, but as we were 'passing through' it was ideal as we didn't have to fight our way out of central reading.

Very friendly and hard working staff -especially the guy on reception who was very welcoming and informative. Good facilities in the room, a bar and a good breakfast included the next morning. Large car park with easy access. Outside decoration tired in places.

Signage for the hotel coming from Newbury. You have lots of trees and shrubs which hinder your signs. We turned around and saw the sign better coming from Reading. Perhaps a sign on the hotel itself on roadside, as it just looked like housing. Inside was good.

Dated accommodation and soft beds

Stuff and fucilities offered were really good...proximity to nice pubs and driving out to towand surroundings good. Within 20 min from Reading centre was good for us.

The staff and food

Everything was fine except I booked an accessible room which was fine except for the bathroom which had a bath and myself and my sister were unable to have a shower the next day and we were attending a wedding so had to make do with a wash and couldn’t wash our hair. I was very disappointed as our other relatives who booked normal rooms all had wet rooms or showers.

The room smelt damp. We didn't bring it up as we weren't there long, but im sure the hotel would have sorted it if we had. Hasn't put us off if we were to stay again.

My bed was meant to be a Queen but it was 1 single beds side by side and I woke up a few times in the night as I was sinking between the 2 beds 😡

Queue to check in which took a while so we didn’t have long to get ready before our taxi arrived. Plug hole in bath/shower was full of hair/gunk presumably from previous guests. Pull out chair bed sloped down at pillow end, had to sleep the other way round!

We checked in at approximately 16:20 and room wasn’t ready however housekeeping staff were very helpful and efficient, they soon turned the room around and kindly let us leave our bags. They were very kind to my children too.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights at this hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and it had wonderful air conditioning (or heating for winter). Hot water was immediate in the shower, which was a blessing! We were also quite pleased that there were different types of sleeping pillows to choose from, which is always nice, and the room was very clean. We were surprised at how quiet the hotel was, considering it was near a road, but we slept like babies. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we especially liked the buffet breakfast. Lots of food choices, including a full traditional English breakfast! The hotel felt very safe and it was well-taken care of. Some parts of the hotel need more updating, but it is a work in progress that they are working on. This was a quality, economical hotel, and we would definitely stay here again. Recommended!

The serving staff in the bar / restaurant were very surly and were clearly unhappy that we had arrived for food 20 min before they were finishing food service. The food took forever to come. Peas were clearly re-heated. Meal was below average and over priced.

If I had to choose the only thing I can think of is the tea in the morning maybe I have been spoiled with the water back home

First of all the value for money. Didn’t expect the standard of cleanliness or the standard of room. The breakfast was brilliant everything was cooked perfectly plenty of choice. I normally stay at a premier inn but I think I have truly been converted

The only thing negative about our stay was that the glass shower screen had been removed previously and not replaced.

Excellent place to stay in you are travelling with dogs. Staff were polite and helpful. Keith in particular made are stay more than just a stop over. We both wanted to leave an amazing review for this man. He has exceptional customer service, was polite, chatty and willing to help with any issues. We would return and recommend this hotel based on our positive experience.. give this man a pay rise. Thank you Keith for making our stay enjoyable :)

The breakfast was really delicious. They have great blueberry muffins, I wish I know from where they bought it. Even the receptionist were really kind and helpful. They gave us free sparkling water. The room was provided with lovely greeting chocolates. Even the parking was free for us and safe.
