The bar food and drink was extraordinarily expensive (most likely aimed at commercial travellers who charge back to their company and don't even look at the price), and the bar staff were bordering on rude; brusque, dismissive, impolite, all done with the air of people who had better things to do than serve and the meal was almost thrown onto our table.

Room was fantastic, the view was incredible, the hotel well laid out and equipped and the check-in staff were extremely friendly and helpful; the quality of the bar food was acceptable.

The bar menu very limited, same one given for lunch and evening meal, so very disappointed. The choice for lunch terrible, no lite bites, for example: omelette or sandwiches. Also we were there for a relaxing break but there were too many executives sitting around with their laptops and at times having even having meetings via their laptops/phones. I would have thought that a suitable rooms or an area for business clients should be made available so other guests who have paid good money for a relaxing break are not made to feel like they are sat in an office!!!! So very disappointed with this. Also looked into using the pool as a guest and got told there would be a £10 charge? Really, that was one of the reasons we decided to stay here because of the pool and spa.

It’s the beginning of autumn but it can still get hot in the room when asleep and the stand fan wasn’t working so I couldn’t sleep. This defeated the purpose of my stay which was to relax. These things should be checked by hotel.

Perhaps for such a large property, I might have expected two separate and distinct breakfast areas to avoid the morning rush and crowds, and to have an experience more in keeping with the setting you find yourself in.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The De Vere Hotel is a little gem nestled in the Cotswolds! The property sits perfectly within the surrounding landscape, and it’s wonderful being able to enjoy the lake and countryside straight from your room or apartment. The service is prompt, the staff are friendly, and breakfast is generous - though it does get a bit hectic when it’s busy. However, being able to have it outdoors in fine weather and be so close to nature is absolutely unbeatable. There are some lovely little restaurants nearby too, perfect for those who don’t fancy driving too far.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Breakfast was chaotic,queues for hot drinks was horrendous.No cutlery or sugar had to ask. Can’t use the spa unless you either have a treatment booked or you pay for an hours slot. Paid for a delux room on line to be told on arrival the patio doors don’t open due to maintainence,either still have the room or they could down grade us!
