Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandHis wife was a little more withdrawn. We were sitting in the bar, only ones in the bar at the time except for some teenagers playing pool, when suddenly the huge television above our heads went on and the landlady leaned on the bar watching. the children's cartoons!! We left the bar and went to bed.
As soon as we arrived, the owner took great care of us and was extremely helpful. He said that if we had a problem with anything, to go straight to him and he would do his utmost to fix it.

United KingdomThe only fault I have with this place is our tv in room was only 22 inch tiny when on bed watching it felt as if I was straining my eyes to see it
Great property very comfortable excellent hosts very friendly couldn’t do enough for you there wasn’t a fridge in our room so they let us put our drinks etc in a small fridge they had downstairs, didn’t hear other guests at all met them in morning at breakfast rooms were lovely beds very comfortable the homemade cookies were a great touch and although there was instant coffee tea etc in our room we were kindly asked if want cafetière of coffee which I accepted was lush, also on arrival we were presented with a breakfast menu and we were to choose all that we wanted from it so we took it up to our room filled them in and returned them and on arrival at breakfast our feast was brought out freshly made so friendly and kind highly recommend this place

United KingdomIf I had one thought, it would be to have a small fan in the room for the summer period (room 3), as the window didn't appear to open but that may have been my incompetence!😅.
Very nice place. Really clean and tidy! Room was well laid out. The host ( can't remember her name, sorry) but was lovely and was completely welcoming, providing cookies and fresh milk for the tea and coffee facilities! And also suggested a lovely walk in the area, which I wouldn't have realised had she not mentioned it! Couldn't fault it bar the window not opening. It exceeded my expectations as it was cheap and a great location for the ferry!

United KingdomThis is our third visit to Corsewall Arms. We find it very comfortable and peaceful. There are few amenities in Kirkcolm itself, but we like the location because of the coastal walking. We can also recommend Jo's breakfasts 🙂

United KingdomWe were on the top floor, which wasn't a problem for us - but not good if you have mobility problems.
Well looked after during our stay (even providing a chilled ice bucket for our room!). Actual milk provided for your cuppa! The breakfast choices were excellent, beautifully cooked and made with quality ingredients. Location - easy to find and within yards of the 'Blue Peter'- a local traditional pub. Had fish and chips -(home made chips - which were excellent). Brilliant stopover if you are getting a ferry over to Ireland.

FranceIt was absolutely lovely, and unfortunately we only stayed one night, but would have liked to stay longer. The host was absolutely lovely, very welcoming, the rooms were perfect. We only used the hotel because we were on the ferry the next day, which was a shame as we would have enjoyed staying longer if we could have.

United KingdomIf I could give a higher mark for the staff, I would. Honestly, Jo is amazing, made my stay very relaxing and comfortable, making sure I had everything I could possibly need. While I never met Sam, thank you for my little treats! Those biscuits were amazing and going out of your way to make them vegan, thank you! Cute little sleepy town, perfect distance from Stranraer and Portpatrick - a stunning little town with great coastal and woodland walks. There's a picnic area just down the road, along the waters edge. Street parking outside the B&B was easy and free. I didn't struggle to find a spot. Stranraer is a disc zone parking town (I was not aware of this). However, there is a large free carpark along the foreshore. You will be well looked after here.

Warm welcome from Jo. Really comfortable and well appointed room. The home made cookies were a lovely touch as was the offer of wine glasses as there was nowhere in the village to go for a drink and we took our own. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and tailored to what we wanted. Jo could not do enough to make our stay memorable. Highly recommend!
