Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is a delightful and luxurious guest house, run by a lovely host who goes above and beyond to ensure a happy and comfortable stay and make you feel welcome. The bedroom was clean and roomy with a view over the garden and fish pond. The bed was really comfy. The setting just out of town was quiet, with easy and secure parking. Everything you need was provided. There is a private guest garden with small orchard which was very peaceful. It was lovely to be offered tea and fresh baked scones on arrival after a long journey. The house is historic and full of character, and it all made for a lovely stay.

A beautiful historic house with lots of character. A lovely room. A delightful cooked breakfast: also loved the china teapot and fresh flowers. I was lucky enough to benefit from sitting in the sun in the peaceful garden during my stay. Most of all I felt incredibly welcomed and looked after by Victoria. I had a wonderful couple of days and hope to return.

United KingdomThe driveway was quite steep so possibly not suitable for people who are not so sure on their footing. It's a tight turn out of the driveway on to the road.
This was honestly one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in my life. The host was so lovely, the room was comfortable and clean, the building and surroundings were gorgeous and breakfast was tasty, freshly prepared and not too heavy.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like. It was a pleasure to stay with her at her lovely B&B and I will hopefully go back and visit her again soon.
Victoria is very friendly and helpful. On arrival I received a lovely welcome and some amazing homemade scones and tea in the guest garden. She is a very good cook and the breakfast was delicious with a lovely menu with a really nice selection. Her pancakes and bacon are great! She offered me lots of really good advice about places I was going to visit and Ironbridge itself and also gave me a card and said if I was stuck out anywhere to call her, which I thought was really nice as I was visiting on my own. My room was lovely, really cosy with a comfy bed and I had a lovely view of the garden and the pond below with lots of fish in it. So on opening my window I could hear the sound of the water outside. Victoria added lots of lovely touches such as a newsletter with lots of information, amazing White company bath products and delicious biscuits. There were lots of stunning photographs of Ironbridge and the B&B also placed around.

Victoria was so warm and welcoming and that did really make all the difference during our stay. You can tell she is passionate about caring for her visitors. She was incredibly helpful giving us suggestions of what to visit in the area and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast had lots of choice and was tasty. The room was super clean and spacious with lovely views. It’s so quiet and relaxing there - we will stay again for sure. The property is very close to Ironbridge and all of the museums/ pubs etc are a short stroll away. I’m so pleased we booked instead of a pub with rooms, no parking hassle and just the birds singing to keep you company!

Victoria went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with tea and homemade scones. She made vegan scones especially for me which were the best I've ever had! Each morning we had a wonderful cooked breakfast which also included fruits, pastries and yoghurts. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a variety of tea, coffee and biscuits. Victoria even provided vegan milk, coffee sachets, and oat bars. It was an incredibly relaxing stay, and we'll definitely return. Highly recommended!

Victoria is an exceptional host. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was superb from the location, house itself to the clean and lovely furnished room. It even had a small fridge tucked away in the wardrobe! Perfect. Honestly I'm going back. I had the best sleep in years and she even bought my favourite veggie sausages on request! 10 out of 10 and I've never given that to anyone before .

Coalbrookdale Villa is a lovely B&B based in historic Ironbridge. The room was cozy and very clean. The breakfast was delicious and homemade and the villa itself was quaint and homey. Best of all was the host, Victoria, who went out of her way to make sure that I was happy and taken care of. She added such a personal touch to my stay, really going above and beyond. She even left me a little card with chocolates when I came back from my first trade show which I was nervous about. The personal touches add so much to the stay. To anyone thinking about staying here, you won’t be disappointed.

United StatesIf you need to use a taxi service and are traveling from outside of the UK, be aware that the Telford area taxis have consolidated to a single service, and at the time of this writing you will most likely need to pay your driver by cash (the local taxi app actually looks to be impressively made, but sadly cannot send the payment link text to non-UK phone numbers). You may want to let the taxi service know that there is limited cell service immediately around the villa. This is no ding on Coalbrookdale Villa though!
Coalbrookedale Villa is an amazing bed and breakfast. The location is central to the Ironbridge area, and is in easy walking distance to all of the historical sites. It's tucked away off the main roads and has beautiful, peaceful views. Victoria is a wonderful, welcoming host, who very thoughtfully helped me with my travel logistics and even checked in while I was out to make sure I was able to get to and from OK. My room was very clean and cozy, and had all the things I needed plus thoughtful extras (water, tea, coffee, cookies!). I wish I could have stayed longer!
