Breakfast mediocre so presumably a change of chef? We shouldn’t complain though as given to us free as large hornets came into our room during night which we had to kill and reception gave us breakfasts for free. We also had to vacate our rooms at 2.00 am when fire alarms went off and had to stand in car park until all clear. Someone had smoked in their room - we learnt - so not hotels fault.

Loved location, friendly staff and exceptional food on a Saturday night.

Fire Alarm going off at 1-15 am in rhe morning and no Safety protocols ie roll call after the evacuation took place, not enough members of staff to deal with problem

That I only booked for one night would have loved to stay for longer. Would like to visit in winter time and experience the bar with the log fire burning away.

The staff were very helpful and attentive. The property was very well kept and well presented. The bar and dining space were very comfortable and quintessentially English it was a joy to stay there and will definitely use this hotel again.

I was told they did a vegetarian breakfast. When it arrived it had an additional grilled tomato but they had simply removed the sausage, bacon and black pudding from the full English breakfast which my brother-in-law had. There was also no difference in price, which seemed like a missed opportunity.

The room was clean, spacious and well-appointed. The outside seating was useful. It was very quiet in the evening which, given its position near to some busy roads and settlements was a real bonus.

Our room, being on the ground floor, had french doors to a small seeing area (per room) which was lovely to be able to sit outside your room, however at night it was very warm and you couldn’t open a window. There was a fan but it was an industrial fan so very powerful and noisy. This didn’t distract us from giving an overall 10/10 though.

Rooms were beautifully designed and exceptionally clean. We stayed in a ground floor room located in the adjacent building to the main pub/restaurant, that was like a luxury hotel as you entered, very modern. The food was superb and a great menu too! Staff were very friendly and attentive.

The owner/manager was very friendly , and the restaurant menu was exceptional. We decided to eat there both nights as the food was so good Our room was comfortable and clean and equipped with everything we needed. Would stay again if in the area.

Room was very warm when we visited. A large fan was provided but it was powerful and too noisy to sleep with it on. Maybe a quieter fan needed as being a garden room we couldn't really open the window due to privacy issues as it meant opening the curtains to let air in. Other than that a fabulous stay.

Very clean. Lovely food. Friendly helpful staff. The garden room in the annexe was lovely as we were able to sit outside in the evening. Free soft drinks in the mini bar. Tea and coffee in room. Powerful shower. Would definately stay again.

Lovely room, free on site parking, delicious breakfast, very helpful staff (especially Luca at breakfast) excellent dining room and bar in a beautiful area. Also close to High Wycombe, where we had booked a theatre performance as well as proximity to National Trust and tourist properties. Handy to Heathrow.

No hand shower Clean but not throughly checked a few little stains in the bathroom and extractor fan not sufficient but reported on departure and they were happy to look into it Remote for the tv was very dirty

There was nothing we did not like about staying at The Checquers Inn.

Warm welcome, clean, comfortable room with plenty of space and storage. The patio was a lovely extension to the room, and we had all the facilities we needed.

Charming country Inn in a quiet location. Beautifully furnished room. Spotlessly clean. Comfort bed. It had a small ‘fridge and a little round dining table with chairs which was unexpected. Modern shower room. Pleasant dining room with excellent breakfast available. Very pleasant staff. We stayed for an enjoyable 4 nights.
