My only negative was the shower. Considering the age and location of the hotel, I can understand low pressure, but the way the head was fitted and the very low pressure you couldn't have a proper shower

We had a 2nd room floor. This was fine for us but no lifts so you need to carry up your luggage. Being on the 2nd floor meant low ceiling and being over 6ft tall I did bang my head a few times. The en-suite bath with shower taps when coupled with the angled ceiling meant that it was almost impossible to use as a shower without kneeling in the bath.

Great location just a couple of minutes walk to Rozel harbour and the bus stop. The hotel was very quiet with only a few guests during our week long stay. Old world charm if not now needing some maintenance. All the staff were very friendly.

Alas the bathroom washbasin taps were loose and not working well, the toilet flush needed a quick fix which was done, and a tiny drip from the roof gully above needed a small bucket when it rained. We didn't allow these minor faults spoil the stay

The toilet seat had a crack which pinched me a couple of times, and the cold water in the shower didn't appear to work. As we were only there for one night, and we had a jacuzzi bath, it didn't bother us and on leaving we informed the reception, so hopefully it's sorted for the next guest.

The superior room we had included a balcony and was very spacious and had a wonderful feeling of grandiose. The bathroom included a shower and a Jacuzzi bath. Then of course there's the restaurant! The food is DEVINE.....what more can I say.

As I requested something special for my husband's birthday, we were given a bottle of prosecco (as suggested by me) and the birthday cake with a candle, which was super nice. As much as I was happy to pay for a prosecco, they also served a platter of 'birthday selection cakes' and charged £30 for that, without informing me in advance. Not good. Otherwise, all great.

Beautiful location, very warm welcome, we travelled with our dog who was also made very welcome. It is a very traditional style hotel but that just makes it comfortable and leisurely to be there. A very nice meal at the local pub which is part of the hotel and a scrumptious breakfast the next morning in the conservatory added to the stay as well.

There’s no lift access so those with mobility issues cannot stay here.

The hotel is in an old style mansion which has a lot of charm, but parts of the house should now be refreshed.

Might not be ideally situated but it was surrounded by nature and very quiet.
