Exceptional host nothing was too much trouble

Delightfully close to the airport (I walked up to catch my flight the next morning). Food at the Airport Tavern was just what I needed (and the waitress was very cute!).

I had a little trouble knowing how to turn on the shower, but a guest showed me the switch high on the wall

The house is clean and cosy, situated in a clean, quiet and safe neighbourhood. The room was also clean, the bed was comfortable. The lady of the house is very kind, welcoming and helpful. She is not intrusive, she doesn't bother you, she just lets you mind your business. I really enjoyed staying at her property and it was definitely good value for money. Some reviews stated that the kitchen was full of stuff and so on. But let's not forget this is not a hotel, it's someone's home and they can arrange their home as they see fit. Plus when you're on holiday you don't spend a long time inside, much less cooking. To me the important things in any form of accommodation are: a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. That's what I needed and that's what I got. But other people have different expectations and if they are not met, they get frustrated. My advice to them is: book a room only after you've read the description carefully. Make an informed decision.

Friendly host. Room was adequate. Flexible.

Far distance Edinburgh city. Cluttered kitchen.

Host is lovely. Bed clean and comfortable, good night's sleep. New good quality secure lock fitted to bedroom. Wonderful hot and powerful shower. Full use of kitchen. Although a few miles out of centre is easy to find (one straight road) and are buses. Lots of places to eat on the way. Good WiFi

House appeared grubby with dirty walls/paintwork. Around lightswitches brown with use. Curtains needed cleaning. Needs redecorating. Remember this is a homestay not a hotel so tv or kettle in room although there was kettle in kitchen.

We agreed upon check-in at 11am via the Booking request system, but did not receive instructions until hours later. I don't think this place is a lost hope, but I hope that this can be improved for others, even if it's just a sending of basic instructions upon confirmation.

The location was good.

The host was nice but didn't seem very welcoming and also didn't give a tour to explain where we were okay to go. It felt like our private room wasn't prepared for customers to stay. The wardrobe in our room still had some of the hosts belongings, the carpet wasn't clean, and the kitchen was cluttered.

Despite booking for 2 nights we were put in Room B which was full of clutter. It was clearly someone's bedroom. Our room did NOT have the advertised garden view (SEE PHOTO). The mattresses were very soft too. ROOM A looked a lot nicer. Kitchen was almost unusable. Worksurfaces were full of clutter with  kitchen rubbish left  tied up in the middle of the floor.  All cockery and pans needed a good clean.

Unfortunately, my room did not have a lock, and I did not feel safe there. The cleanliness was also terrible—there was a lot of dust and hair from other guests. Fortunately, the heating in the room worked well, and it was warm. However, I still do not recommend this place, as there is a huge difference between the advertised photos and reality. The host was very friendly, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.

Easy access to the city via bus (£2) or 30min walk. People in charge were welcoming and the property was very clean.

Temperature in the house was quite low. The beds are not designed to be used by adults, too small and uncomfortable. No answer on the phone contact.

Very nice host and a lovely house! Comfortable room. Bus stop in couple minutes.

All's good, but bed was a bit short for me :)
