Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Booked Cedar Lodge based on the reviews for a golfing weekend round North Wales. Tracey and Simon are excellent hosts and can't do enough for you. Breakfast was brilliant and let us have it slightly earlier for our tee times, room was spotless and location is great for golf and for food out at night. Thanks to you both, we'll be back...

Simon was lovely- really friendly and welcoming, and was able to give us some tips on things to do that were great for my daughter. B&B was perfectly placed- less than a 10min walk to either beach, and a perfect base from which to head out and explore the area. Nice comfortable and clean room, with a nicely sized bathroom and great shower. Very quiet and easy to relax. Breakfast was AMAZING- I'd go back again just for one of those!

The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent. We booked the King suite and bed was very comfortable. The whole experience was relaxing and comfortable. Will definitely return, we have passed details on to our cousin.in Colwyn Bay so she can pass on the details to others who may want to stop when they visit her. The parking facilities were a big bonus.

It was part of the heatwave so the room was very warm. Small fan provided, which helped a little..but cant complain about the sun!
Fantastic welcoming hosts!! Helpful and provided details about where to go and places to eat if needed. Room spotless, we were only staying two nights but would love to return. Breakfast...fab, freshly cooked and everything hot. Would highly recommend.

The hosts were very friendly. They made the three of us very welcome. The cooked breakfasts were very tasty and well cooked. The hosts also gave recommendations on where to eat and where to go.

Nothing not to like
Wonderful value B&B, spotless, spacious room with lovely white fluffy towels and everything you would need. Great location with off road parking in-front of the house. Fantastic hosts who made us feel very welcome and an excellent piping hot breakfast. Couldn’t fault it and will definitely go back. Thank you Tracey and Simon.
