The facilities were slightly outdated and due to it being in the town centre, the night life is very loud. But not keep you up loud, just noticeable when in the room

My only comment here is linked to my inability to get the shower going (I woke up later than I had planned and had no spare time for a bath or to ask reception). Definitely a failure of my own making, but I would recommend trying it when you are not in a rush and checking with Staff if you fail as I did)!

An excellent location with a breakfast choice between Continental or English (I chose the latter and was set up for the day). The local area is well known to me, but the staff were very welcoming and had a good knowledge of the local area and the local parking rules in the area.

Room was quite unclean, mold along the windows and behind the bed, found ash in the bathroom by the toilet and weird substance in bathtub. Car park was quite far away.

Good location and room was spacious. In town centre which is useful for a stop off to get supplies before heading out.

The hotel is in an area with lots of bars, so very noisy til late which is fine if you're staying there after a night out, but I was staying with my 11 year old daughter so lots of shouting and swearing so not ideal. The room itself, although comfortable, is a little grubby and tired.

I arrived very late and there was nothing available to buy to have a snack . At the very minimum you would think there would be a vending machine or something .

Some of the drawer handles were broken or missing. Need to think about a grab handle for getting into the shower/bath, and could do with a light over the vath as the curtain cuts out a fair bit of light. ....but nothing to stop me going back next time I'm in Merthyr

Staff was really nice and helpful. The hotel is located close to train and bus stations which is very convenient for people relying on public transport. The size of the room was decent for a comfortable stay.

They allowed me to store my motorbike in a secure locked room.

Room smelt very damp, mainly due to the extraction not working in the bathroom. Smelt like it hadn't worked in a while.

The bathroom was so small while I was on the toilet and just about to get up my husband came in and the door handle hit me on the head leaving a dent in my head and blood as a married couple we never lock the bathroom door I was very lucky I didn't end up in hospital on my wedding night

Sockets poorly positioned related to bed for phone charging, no usb charging. Warm, no air conditioning.

The road works outside were very noisy and seemed to go on all night, along with interruptions to power supply which was very disruptive to things I urgently needed to do online.

Breakfast was marvellous with real understanding and concern for dietary limitations.

Nothing bothered us but there is a pub next door which got noisy and may affect some people.

On arrival, my room wasn't quite ready, so the housekeeper went off to sort me out and they gave me the room next door, which I thought was exceptional service. The location was perfect for one overnight stay. There were loads of options for food and other essentials. The next morning, the full English breakfast tasted lovely, cooked to perfection and was served quickly. All the staff were really helpful and attentive.

The bath room cupboard in my particular wasn't very clean. Its decor is little dull and tired but has old fashioned charm. Breakfast restaurant unless you book won't ve available, and won't open other times. But there're many others nearby just short walk. It's not hotel's fault but Booking.com made me confused this is close to Blackwood other town I wanted to visit, but is not.

Location in the town was good, walking distances to everywhere I usually needed, from Station, shops, restaurans etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful called me a taxi and such. The room has standard facility, park view and is pretty. Quiet at night so had good night sleep. Very good town location, very convenient in lovely place of Wales. Staff's Welsh accent were charming.
