The plumbing is typical of an old property and needs some attention.

The stair carpet in the corridor approaching the room needs replacing. A change of towels for the second day would have bee. nice

The ensuite bathroom had a maserator, which was very noisy. Also if you use rhe bathroom at night the extractor fan comes on and is very loud. We booked late, so had to have the room without a shower. The bath is in the bedroom, (we did know this before booking, but it was a sought after night in Loughborough due to graduations), which some might like, I didn't particlarly and missed having a shower. We previously had a better visit, when we stayed in the other double with a shower, so I'd recommend that room. The venetian blind needs fixing or replacing, it was set to closed and there was no way of opening it, which was annoying. We could lift the whole thing up, but then you would have no privacy, right on the main road. It wouldn't take much to fix this issue. I think they could have been a bit more generous with the tiny tubs of milk. You have enough for just one hot drink, that's if you are okay taking your hot drinks strong. Maybe ask for more on arrival, if like me you don't want very strong drink.

The room didn't have AC and was on a busy road, so with the window open (which didn't call the room) it was very noisy meaning we were awake at 6.30am!! Probably ok is the winter with the window closed.

There were no curtains in the room, only a slatted blind that let the light through from the street light outside as well as then natural light from 4am! Luckily I had an eye mask with me but some heavy curtains would have been better - as there is already a curtain rail there then I think this would be an easy fix.

Very friendly staff, a large comfortable room and very convenient for eating at the excellent restaurant downstairs or exploring the centre of Loughborough. A problem with the toilet was resolved quickly.

The water came out of the showerheads without any power, they are possibly in need of descaling or replacing.

The only mirror in the room was the opposite side to any sockets which meant I had to take the mirror off the wall, it was very heavy

The breakfast was great, when I asked for some cucumber & tomato it was brought straight away, the room was very comfortable & I was very glad to have the use of a fan
