Really handy for everything...The town and ferry right at your doorstep. Friendly staff and great breakfast. We had a fantastic view over the sea and to the ferry terminal

It seems to be the norm in so many places, but I woke up very early with the light, as the curtains didn't really darken the room.

The family sea room was really great , loved old and new touches My son loved playing piano in the room And the view to die for Breakfast fab Staff nothing was too much trouble Hope to return soon

A good breakfast. Nice and tidy room. Central location , short walking distance to town centre and local shops.

A minor problem , with the outside door handle being broken , thus taking several attempts to gain entry to the guest house. No bar facilities available for the guests to use ( possible temporary loss of Liquor Licence ) .

Accommodation was clean and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely book again.

Nothing to do with the hotel but we were in the basement and the window.was a street level.so it was quite noisy. Couldn't keep.the window open as a result.

Great place to stay

We were greeted warmly and informed that one of our rooms wasn’t available currently. This was fine as other room was ready so we could check in with our kids and unpack. We were provided tea and coffee for the room and some sweeties for the kids. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly.

Sadly our other room that wasn’t ready was due to a problem with the bath. Upon arrival I was informed that we wouldn’t be able to use the shower or bathroom in that room during our stay. I was also informed that this was communicated to me prior to our arrival however I received no email or phone call regarding this. Bad we had a shower in the other room this was fine but if we didn’t have a secondary room we would have no facility to wash. I feel we should be discounted for that room as there was no facility for washing. My wife was woken up during the night due to the kitchen staff playing music.

Room was perfect for me. Perfect pillows & mattress. Bath with lots of hot water. Perfect outdoor spaces & across from the water. Beautiful hosts & delicious breakfast. 10/10 from me.

Location

Cannon house. Ideal location 5min walk to the ferry and the town, room was massive and very comfortable, good breakfast to start your day and the staff were very happy to serve.

The room was lovely and comfortable

The stairs. Room was clean enough noticed in the morning there is a cobweb at the corner of the shower.

Everything very laid back and relaxing. Staff very friendly and helpful, if you needed anything you just had to ask. Quiet and peaceful place to stay. I felt very relaxed and rested. Wanted to stay another night but was fully booked. This was our second time there. We will always book with Cannon house on future holidays. Loved it.

Being on the 2nd floor, I will arrange for ground floor in the future due to mobility issues.

The most welcoming staff we have ever experienced...and we are in our sixties so have been around! Luba and Fiona are absolutely amazing...they went over and above to make us and our little pug dog Colin feel comfortable and happy. They are both exceptionally wonderful at their jobs and I cannot recommend more highly if you want a welcoming, comfortable and relaxing stay on the Isle of Bute.
