just one thing......When I was told my room key was also the front door key, I guessed that all the room keys could open every room door...As a lone female who travels a lot, this became more of a concern when I found i couldn't lock my room door from inside, ( I may have got this wrong, but I just couldn't find a way to lock it) This is no reflection on the owners, i slept well, the place felt very safe, it was just always in the back of my mind. an actual lock on the door would have been an excellent addition.

The welcome to this large old building was lovely, very easy and the room and bathroom large, bright, clean and comfortable and being on the edge of town was excellent. Plenty of plug sockets and charging points in all the right places.

Double bed in so called deluxe room way too small . Shd have been king or at least queen size. Suitable only for single occupancy or 2 very skinny people!

You could hear the TV in the adjoining room. Not great when whoever was in there had clearly fell asleep with it on. Price was on the steep side, I feel I was hit with a chunk of 'Edinburgh Fringe' tax

Very functional accommodation. Very clean. Comfortable IKEA mattress. Quiet room. Good shower. Solid shutters to block out morning light. Good hairdryer. Handy electric socket. Got good night's sleep to set me up for a busy day the next day.

Very, very poor value for money, paid £115 for a triple room for 2 people, worth £80 absolute maximum. Off putting from the outside appearance and from the TripAdvisor reviews. Very strong smell of curry on entry at 5pm and of burnt toast at 7:30am. Very dated. Other guests upset with their rooms and disappointed with staff reaction to their complaints.

Very easy to find and central. Bedroom and bathroom dated but both clean (Room 3) Easily accessible garden area (next to historic Anderson shelter) to sit in.

There were make up stains on the towels they couldn't get out. They shouldv'e thrown them out like any decent hotel does. The rooms were also quite noisy. You could hear the plumbing of the whole building and everyone who talked outside your room.

Parking was on street. Had I not had a blue badge restrictions could have made it awkward. Hotel looked a bit run down from front but was nice inside.

Would have liked 2 sets of keys as my son went to amusements and I had to go downstairs to let him in building but not a major issue.

Very comfortable bed and good size. Good bathroom size and shower. Location ideal from train station and enjoyed having shops/cafes nearby on main Street. Nice having carnival during the season nearby. Quick check in. Will return as know the area well.

The only downside I can think of is that there was no mini fridge or microwave. But the place was located on the same street as restaurants.

Very welcoming and friendly host! We stayed for just one night and had a room with its own entrance in the backyard. The room was spacious and included a TV, desk, two single beds, and a bathroom. The bathroom seemed newly renovated. We arrived by car around 5 p.m. and managed to find a parking spot on the street right next to the place.
