How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There was nothing not to like in my view
Perfect, welcoming hosts, impeccably clean, breakfast was amazing, lots of choices, advised about local restaurants. Value for money and close to the town centre and harbour, nice chilled stay I would highly recommend

Not a thing..
Hospitality was excellent..Greeted on arrival with tea and cake and lots of info. Nice room overlooking the garden. Very clean and tidy. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Nice garden with hot tub olif you wanted it. All in all couldn't have been better.

The plug in the room basin didn't hold water long enough for me to complete my wet shave with one amount of water in the basin.But no real problem I just shaved more quickly the second time !
Very ordered and well equipped guest house.It has a jacuzzi and steam room.The breakfast menu was comprehensive and varied and very well cooked . Linda and Jo the hosts were friendly and v.helpful about travel bus timetables for other places nearby in Devon and good local eateries recommended by locals.In short a quality service competitively priced which triumphs on attention to detail.

Hosts Jo & Linda were superb from the moment of arrival. They provided useful details for our visit and were fun and engaging. Breakfasts available were varied and cooked to perfection. Drinks are available as are hot tub and relaxing area. I'm pretty certain it won't be too long before we're back!

Beautiful well appointed room, lovely hosts and delicious breakfast. Close to the town with lots of transport links to the surrounding area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent stay. Fantastic hosts could not meet a nicer couple, friendly and super helpful. Room had a comfy bed and every amenity you could wish for. Outside garden area was perfect for a lazy afternoon or an evening glass of wine. Brilliant!

Nothing, it was all perfect.
Joe and Linda were amazing hosts, very welcoming and attentive. They were both very knowledgeable about the area and offering reccomendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat in. Nothing was too much! The facilities were excellent, hot tub, sauna and parking, which is a bonus in the area. The breakfast was outstanding, with lots of choice and extremely tasty, a very high standard. The guest house was clean and spacious, Joe and Linda really have thought of everything. The room was clean and decorated to a high standard. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and will definitely be recommending to family and friends. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I loved everything

There was nothing to dislike
I’m not sure you would be able to find a more comfortable or accommodating guest house in Brixham. The owners, Joe and Linda, were excellent first class generous hosts of this 5 star property which was spotlessly clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was delicious with an excellent choice of ingredients. A short walk, or hopping on the No12 bus, took us to the harbour where we had evening meals at a number of establishments recommended on the very useful list sent by Joe and Linda prior to our visit. A lovely bonus was to be able to use the hot tub in the lovely garden. Unfortunately we were only booked for a 3 day stay but can’t wait to return.

Joe and Linda were excellent hosts and Joe's knowledge of the area was very helpful. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice and pre-booked the night before. Location was spot on with only a 10 minute walk to Brixham harbour. Parking was a bonus too directly outside the property.
