Some details in the rooms could be improved, such as the aluminum bathroom fittings, which were rusty.

Delicious dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, which overall has a very well-kept and welcoming setting. A beautiful hotel with kind staff.

I love this hotel. Since I booked my stay as separate nights, instead of all in one go, my superlative reviews for this place are already online. So just to recap: I loved this hotel and hope I get to go back. Everything there delighted me, from the comfort, to the views, to the garden, to the food, to the drinks selection at the bar, to the location, to the people who work there. A gem of a place!

Possibly our mistake but we booked the smallest room and found it a bit cramped. In a future visit, we'd consider upsizing our room.

The staff at Bridgend were outstanding and obviously well-trained. The hotel grounds are well-maintained and offered a great opportunity for a stroll. Breakfast and dinner meals were outstanding with a good selection of choices on the menu.

Lovely small property in an ideal location to explore Islay. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant which are both good. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

The room and bed were rather small. It was a smallish double bed which was uncomfortable for someone over 6ft tall. If I had been aware of this I would have made sure to book a larger bed

It can be quite difficult to carry items of suitcases and luggage through the main bar area to get in. They do have a front door which does not appear to open and I wonder if those would bigger items of luggage could be allowed to come through that door. I ended up having to decant some of my luggage into a smaller bag rather than bring my main bag in because I didn’t want to injure anyone in the bar with it. It also looks a bit strange having people wandering through the bar and restaurant area carrying their luggage, maybe it was just a busy night for the staff.

Relatively easy to find. I was working on Jura so needed somewhere quickly after a change of day really liked The Local shampoo and conditioner. That was a nice touch. The shower was good and hot and I didn’t think the shower was too small at all. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Food was very nice in terms of the breakfast however I did ask for a vegetarian breakfast but luckily I am not vegetarian. I was given the full works which I did eat because I didn’t want to waste the food but if I had been vegetarian that would’ve been a bit of a problem.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. I loved that the hotel used local products from their toiletries to the dishware. The food was incredible and I slept like a baby. I will definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Islay.
