How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room was very hot and windows opened onto slightly noisy road but not a huge issue.
Very helpful staff. Bright, clean room and help yourself breakfast a good option.

A little off the beaten path but not horrible. Having parking accommodations was a bonus!

It was very warm upstairs but there was a fan in my room which really helped.
Everything I needed was readily available. The breakfast choice was very good and real milk in your own little chiller

It was close enough to the crematorium. Plus the lovely Chorton Reservation park that i spent a few hours walking around.... a perfect way to relax before the funeral

Bit of late night noise from outside but it was summer and it’s a pub so to be expected and in no way spoilt the stay.
Little gem of a property . Free parking and loads of little additional add ons that make all the difference to a stay

Wi-Fi in my room was near non-existent (R1) but I had plenty of mobile signal so just used my hot-spot, but fine in the pub downstairs. No big deal. Pub was way too hot for my liking, during dining, but I did sit inside when I could have sat outside, but I prefer some peace and quiet to use my laptop and outdoors was busy.
No cooked breakfast wasn't an issue, and there were complimentary continental items to choose from. Evening meal was good, but not an extensive menu; my Cajun chicken burger was cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed it! Great selection of refreshments too. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the accommodation was vastly better than I anticipated (for essentially "a public house with rooms"); bed was super-comfortable, linen immaculate, and all facilities to hand. Great to have a fridge too, which I didn't expect. Overall the venue is great value for money, and I will be booking again soon when I return for work.

I contacted them directly first and they said there was only a room for £265 because it was a very popular weekend - but on booking.com it was £110 Cheeky !
Great location - easy to be independent Nice bedding. Fan provided for heatwave Modern bathroom

The shower head didn't stay up (room 4). Everything else was great
There was breakfast items available, croissants, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, milk, etc. The bed was so comfy, it was hard to get out in the morning. The area, Chorlton Green, is lovely. There are lots of eating out options. We went to a French style cafe Bisous, Bisous and had a Greek dinner - Sali's Slouvaki.

The shower was a bit difficult to operate. The dials were stuck and do it was difficult to find the correct temperature.
Great location for our needs. Had a fridge, crockery and cutlery. It also had a fan which was useful as the room was very hot.

For a short stay in a pleasant area of Manchester with nice cafes and restaurants it was good. Lovely local walks down to the River Mersey and in a nature reserve. Staff were friendly. Self serve continental breakfast was simple and convenient .

No lift, but one flight of stairs only.
Breakfast not really included but there is a great coffee shop nearby. Parking on site was handy. Decent dinner at pub in the evening. Considering it is a busy pub, not overly noisy, and there is completely private access. Location was great for our purposes (family history research)

Access to the rooms was up an external stairs which would present difficulties for those with mobility issues
Lovely room. Excellent continental breakfast facilities. Great bar and range of drinks. Staff were super helpful and pleasant. Top notch grub of the bar-food type. Location beside a woodland walking area was very enjoyable.
