The owners made you feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. When we asked for more tea etc we always received some more. Room was lovely and spacious and very clean. Breakfast was amazing and the tea came free flowing. Nothing to dislike.

We would not change a thing.

We had a warm welcome from our lovely hosts who throughout our stay were really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated and the en suite bathroom was very well appointed with good quality toiletries provided. Everything was spotlessly clean. There were plentiful supplies of beverages, biscuits, fresh milk and mineral water. The breakfast was all freshly prepared and there was a lot of choice. Overall we were very happy with the Birkdale guest house, we would definitely recommend them.

I could not find a fault

Colin and Leslie are the most wonderful hosts, welcoming, considerate when dealing with breakfast requests and accommodating. The rooms are amazing especially rooms 4 and 5. Helpful in advising how to get to them and plenty of places to visit leaflets. Exceptional value for money.

The Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options, well presented with a smile. Made our much needed break so much better. Keep doing what you're doing - you have everything just right.

I cannot think of anything that was missed out!

Exceptional attention to detail in giving every comfort to our stay with lovely owners and friendly staff on hand. We felt looked after but privacy was also respected, under no pressure if we wanted to remain in our room during the day. Very clean, light and comfortable room with ensuite, complete with every bathroom luxury. On site parking in front with proximity to shops, restaurants and the sea front. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Nothing really, just the stairs up to the room - though Lesley and Colin help with luggage - and possibly more flexibility in breakfast times, though I acknowledge this might be difficult in a small establishment without staff.

The Birkdale far exceeded my expectations. It was immaculate and looked as if it was freshly decorated. All the extras provided in the bedroom and bathroom were what one normally finds in a good class hotel. The breakfast was excellent and served in an attractive room with beautifully laid tables. The proprietors, Lesley and Colin were very friendly and helpful.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The location was perfect. Right in the heart of Shanklin village. Easily accessible to the High Street with restaurants, bars and the Theatre. The breakfast at the Birkdale Guest House was the best we have ever had.
