How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The pillows are strangely tall and felt a bit uncomfortable to sleep with them, and the common areas, such as the corridors, staircases don't seem to fit the standards of the rooms, the building in general, and the neighborhood.
great location at a very nice part of town with some really good cafés, bakeries and brunch places in the neighborhood. The room was super spacious and clean. I tried the restaurant in the building, their fish and chips are spectacular.

I like the location, it's just 15 minutes walk away from town centre. Locked car park may be additional bonus since we,ve seen a car with smashed window just two roads away.

As a typical traveler, there is nothing to say here. As a Gluten free traveler, I would recommend that the Beverley looks into a gluten free version of sausages. Tesco, Aldi and Lidl's store brands are gluten free as standard, and there are many good gluten free brands out there.
We arrived on the day thet Sting was performing at the Castle, so we expected the traffic and the city centre to be busy. The Beverley is well located, walking distance to the centre, and we got to it without a fuss. We were able to park in the secure parking to the rear. The room was perfect for a shoty stay. It was a warm day. so a fan had been placed in the room; this wasn't required, though. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had been recently updated and was very nice; great shower with plenty of hot running water. The next morning we had the breakfast. Being Gluten Free this is always a challenge. The Beverly were able to provide me with a Full Irish breakfast, without the sausages; which was the thing that made it a full irish. We were offered the Vegan sausage as a replacement, but opted for extra eggs instaid. I had a good fill and was very happy with the meal. The cleanliness of the room, the good breakfast, friendly staff and the great location made it the perfect stay. We shall return.

The room (7), perfect in every important way, together with an efficient and friendly staff, made my one-night stay at the Beverley in Cardiff extremely satisfying. Best ever.

The only thing the place lacked was air conditioning but it was exceptionally hot on the day/night we stayed.

Maybe a better selection of real beers and ciders in the bar?
Nice room above a busy pub. So a bit lively on Saturday evening though quiet thereafter. Handy location for Cardiff centre, Sophia Gardens, Llandaff, etc. Small car park but enough spaces to get parked eventually.

Stayed during Stereophonics, so obviously price was hiked exponentially. Far far too hot to be completely comfortable, so bigger fan or air conditioning would have been good.
Location was excellent and staff, minus one male member were really polite attentive and helpful.
