Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnfortunately I would only rate this stay as a 4 out of 5 due to being woke up hourly by the chiming of a clock. Such a shame.
The whole room set up was amazing. The speed of delivery on the room service was very impressive.

United KingdomMore coffee pods, toilet paper and tissues would have been handy, but not much to complain about really.
The location was excellent, close to bars and restaurants but a very quite crescent. Suite was very well designed with lovely fixates and fittings, the dresser kitchenette was very interesting, worked well. Secure parking was aldo a bonus as our car was full as I'd been working away for a few months, so didn't want to leave it parked in the street.

United KingdomThe communal garden for the suites could do with having a bench or chairs as the weather was gorgeous but our only option to enjoy the garden area was to sit on the floor.
Very efficient and friendly staff. The suite was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The welcome sherry and biscuits were a lovely touch too. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice, the French toast was the best I’ve ever had. We also ate in the restaurant on one night and the food was exceptional.

United KingdomThe projector in our room did not work for tv in the main lounge area, we were offered to have someone come to look at it the next day but we would have checked out when available. Other than this I’d say great.
Location was great, many facilities to use freely. Staff were all lovely and so helpful. Breakfast was amazing. The bar and Terrance was lovely to sit in and enjoy a birthday drink. Many complimentary items on offer including Prosecco. Overall lovely stay.

United KingdomThe bed needs stabilising and the shower handset holder needed tightening up which was required to use as the height of the shower is too low for a 6ft 3in person.
The location is excellent with a 10min walk to the harbour side bars. The property was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good range of choices.

United KingdomSadly, functions which the hotel has accepted booking for meant that guests were not able to use the bar and restaurant on both nights of our stay - when booking a hotel I expect to be able to use the facilities paid for.
Nicely furnished and well positioned for both Clifton and central Bristol. Comfortable rooms and good breakfast.

United KingdomThe minibar should include a price list as it isn’t complimentary (to make this clearer). The rear of the projector wasn’t accessible to link up a laptop to watch a film, and despite saying they’d send someone down reception didn’t act on this during our stay.
Great location and a wonderful suite - booked to stay the night before and of my wedding. The space was fantastic for my bridesmaids and mum to stay with me the night before, close to the Botanist for a wonderful dinner, and plenty of space for us all to get ready and the make up artist to set up and work in the morning. It was wonderful to come back to after my wedding and stay with my husband, for a relaxed end to the evening and no rush to be out early. The kitchenette was great and included loads of basics such as milk, tea and coffee.

location was perfect for me; after-midnight receptionist (Jake) was good; the basement suite unusual (rooms separated by several doors) but very pleasant

United Kingdom1. I was not notified during the booking that the Suites do not have lift and I had to climb up to the 2nd floor (3rd in Europe) of an old building with up to 5 m ceilings. 2. The replacement room did not have a TV remote 3. For several years of travelling in Europe, I had not seen a strange unmanageable shower - I finally turned it on, accidentally, but could not turn it off, and the shower had only very hot water. 4. The quality of the food was quite average, and the on-premise restaurant (and room service) closed at 9 p.m.
Stuff was friendly and helpful

United Kingdomthe accommodation I could not class 5 star due to mould on the walls and in the bathroom, damaged walls, and the shower was classed as monsoon but it was a standard shower head that was that good and appeared to of previously broken and not repaired properly. they advertised a cinema screen when actually it was just a projection screen for free view unless you took you’re own laptop which was never mentioned. elements of the apartment were not clean there was food on the sofa and in between the cushions and the dust around the bed side tables and sofa bed. just in general the pictures used to advertise the accommodation were deceiving, and gave the appearance of a much higher quality than what received in our suite
the staff were very helpful friendly and could not fault them and the food served in our included breakfast was faultless

United KingdomThe Suite is rated 5 stars by Booking.com and we paid over £200 for a night. It is not in the main hotel building. It does not match the description on the Booking. The suite we stayed in was a basement flat with a view of the dirty wall from the seating room window. The door entrance to the courtyard was locked. The rainwater leaked into the corridor from that door while we were there. The edge of the bathtub has black mould marks. Dirt or mould sticks on the drain ring of the washing basin. There is a large damp patch on the wall near the ceiling in the top corner of the bathroom. I had to push terribly hard on the button to flush the toilet. The duvet is not of good quality and is very thin. There was no heating in the suite. We contacted reception. The receptionist was very helpful. She came over twice to solve the issue. We finally had the heating on in the suite. But My husband woke up from the cold at around 4 am. He could not get the heating back and had to put the very heavy bedspread on top of the duvet. In the morning the heating was back again.
The hotel is at the best location for attending Bristol University graduation ceremonies. The breakfast was very good. The kitchen unit is very nice. The staff members at the reception of the hotel are excellent. The bed is small but reasonably comfortable.

Loved the little attentions to detail - the sherry bottle & fruit bowl, the coffee machine and the robes/slippers. Staff extremely friendly. The projector was very quirky. The deco was just stunning. Location excellent for tourist spots, visited museum & cathedral, and walking distance to O2. Great eateries nearby, across road from the Botanist. In short, we loved everything!
