Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustriaThe room was on the ground floor with a window directly on the street (although a very calm street), so couldn't open the window, and sometimes I heard noises from the outside.
Perfect location. The room was beautiful, comfortable and had everything needed. The kitchen and common room were amazing and fully equipped too!

United KingdomWe were in a room by the road and had the window open to keep cool in August. It was however, noisy which disrupted my sleep. I'd definitely book here again but not so close to the road.
Breakfast isn't served at the guest house but there is a beautiful, clean, modern kitchen in the basement where you can help yourself to fresh coffee and cereal. There's a lovely dining area also. If you brought bread you can make toast and there's a cooker and hob that you could use if you had the ingredients. There's also a garden area that you can sit in but I didn't see any seat cushions which would be an added bonus. I thought the kitchen/dining space was a lovely addition for the stay.

SwitzerlandI don't prefer being on the ground floor. We had to have the blinds shut almost all the time. But i'm sure the rooms upstairs would be great. And it would be nice to be able to open the windows. The air in the morning is not fresh and the ventilation system is too slow. Being able to open the window for 5min would improve the situation a lot.
Very clean, beautiful TV which doesn't stick out too much, very comfy bed and easy self-check-in.

The host is great! It was very easy to check in with very sharp instruction. I like everything. The decoration and bathroom are high standard. The location is walkable distance from the centre (around 20 minutes to the train station) and a tram stop was just around corner.

United StatesThe shower door doesn't stop water from going out onto the bathroom floor, and the bathroom fan isn't strong enough, making the small bedroom muggy. We would have appreciated a small stool or chair to use the desk beside the bed.
Location was amazing. Staff was attentive. The space was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The space was attractive and we hope to stay there again.

Location was great. Plenty of bars and restaurants around. For breakfast we reccomend "Brunswick Bookclub". Room was located towards the back yard therefore very quiet. It was clean and nicely decorated. There were different pillows to choose from, the bed was comfy. Communication, check-in and check-out was easy and reliable.

Very comfy room and bed, modern and recently refurbished and very clean. There is a small garden at the back too. Walkable from Edinburgh Waverley in 19 minutes or so, but also buses available every 7 minutes which is better if you have suitcases. There are a couple of interesting cafes/restaurants nearby if you don't have time to go central and a Tesco super market for your day to day. Self check in was great though a bit more guidance eg about turning on/adjusting heating would have been well received!
