Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

No wardrobe in the room, just a hanging pole,,good job Id taken hangers. Maybe hangers should be provided? A tile on the bathroom floor was loose,,I stepped on it during the night. I dont think the room had been hoovered properly as when I moved the armchair there were feathers under it. Having said all this,,,I would stay there again!!!
The evening meal was excellent. As were the breakfasts. Staff were very polite and friendly. Hot water in abundance and the sloe gin was very good!

Breakfast – Breakfast was tasty, freshly cooked, and set us up well for the day. Room – The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Dinner – Dinner was excellent, with a good choice on the menu, well-presented dishes, and attentive service.

Pillows weren’t as comfortable as I’d have liked. Cleanliness of the bathroom could have been slightly better.
Staff very friendly & helpful. Room & communal areas beautifully decorated, lovely toiletries. Great breakfast.

Bathroom was up a few steps and the bath was a little high to step over to use the shower. However I didn’t ask for a accessible room, just a shower so this may have been my fault.
Both breakfast and evening meal were of a high standard, cooked fresh to order were hot on arrival at table. I particularly liked being able to watch the chefs cook the food and was happy to see hygiene procedures were excellent. The room was large comfortable bed and double aspect so very light.

The kind staff replaced our coffee machine in the room with another one similar - and that one did not work either. My advice would be to take coffee (and tea bags) with you to this hotel.
We were upgraded to a larger room with a chair because the lock on our booked room did not work. Very helpful staff. The dinner was tasty and the cooked breakfast included in the price was a perfect size and very nice. They were willing to vary what was in it to suit our needs.

A little bit out of the way location but nothing bad. Some rooms back onto the beer garden, which could result in noise when busy - we were sensitive to this as we had a 2 year old with us but it was fine in the end.
Comfy bed, great shower, excellent breakfast and lovely staff.

Room very small with no fan (other rooms had them.)Not.the best to get ready in as mother of the groom for morning of wedding. No wardrobe or coat hangers to hang clothes. Only hook on back of door and a makeshift iron hooks near mirror.
The decor boutique feel. Staff were lovely great service. Food excellent and fresh (apart from desert as no taste and bland) They also let us check.out a little later at no extra cost.

The rooms were very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location is good if you are at a wedding nearby like we were. Plenty of parking. The breakfast included was lovely, lots of choice! Overall, a great property.

Had an evening meal as been travelling all day. Had a main and dessert and half of cider... £50 for one person. Very expensive!
Beautiful rooms, everything you needed! Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice.

Slight stain on sheet and hotel were very apologetic and took money off the evening meal bill which was very welcome. All dealt with very swiftly and professionally.
Lovely decor everwhete with a really nice botanical theme in our room.. food was excellent for dinner and breakfast.

We booked a dog friendly room, which was superb. Lovely furnishings and decor. Great space for the dog, with patio, table and chairs. Fabulous.
