Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNo working coffee machine in hotel for our two day stay. Only hot water in the lobby for tea or instant coffee as none offered in the room either. Also rented a car on our last morning, parked in front to load our car and literally within 5 minutes returning we had a 160 pound parking ticket. You cannot even stop in front, evidently. You must ask for shampoo/conditioner and also no glasses offered in the room. Just 2 bars of soap, towels and a hairdryer. A first for us.
The location is in a clean, quiet, safe area. Close to trains, very good restaurants, groceries, car rentals. Breakfast was delicious. Very friendly staff.

Great location. The staff were fantastic especially the lovely lady who welcomed us. Who went over and beyond to attend to our needs. Fantastic breakfast with a great choice.

United KingdomThe bathroom door had a very strong spring which made it slam very hard. It was quite difficult to grab the knob to stop it. The shower was peculiar. You had to open the door and then step in and close it in order to reach the taps, with the result that you always had to have a cold shower first before you could run the water hot. The knobs were very stiff so you couldn't be sure which way you were meant to turn to adjust the temperature.
Location was excellent, very close to Victoria station, Buckingham Palace. Room was pretty much what you would expect. It had adequate floor space to open suitcases. Bed comfortable, only one chair. Cooked breakfast as well as fruit and continental items. Reasonable value for money given the location.

AustraliaLots of stairs if you are on an upper level as there is no lift but it wasn't a problem for us
The location is excellent. It is in a very safe area and within walking distance to Buckingham palace. A few minutes walk from Victoria station also. We were on the top floor which was up 8 flights of stairs so you may need to ensure you are at a lower level if stairs are a problem. Basic room but very comfortable bed. We highly recommend breakfast. Great value for central London.

AustraliaOnly issue was we stayed during a heatwave and there was no air conditioning. It would have been ok if we could have opened windows however we were directly on the courtyard which had a constant stream of committed smokers. This was probably an extreme weather event so we’d definitely stay again.
Unbeatable upmarket location for transport convenience and many of central London’s attractions. Beautiful quiet street with cafes & restaurants steps away. Staff were all very welcoming & friendly and we were able to store luggage free of charge prior to check in and post check out. Breakfast excellent and accommodated gluten free requests.

United KingdomProperty was warm, the fan provided rattled and was noisy, there was no shower curtain in the bathroom which made using the shower difficult, also water pressure was low. No cloth provided in kitchen or tea towel which would have been beneficial for our stay. Tea and coffee provided, but no milk.
The location was perfect for us and the bed was comfortable, a good nights sleep was had by all

BelgiumThe room was hot in July, with no air conditioning. Located on the ground level, I didn't want to leave the window open at night. Thankfully, a fan kept it bearable.

United KingdomThe smell of paint from recent decorating. My original room was noisy, the carpet hadn't dried after being cleaned and the shower control was stuck on red hot. To the great credit of the staff, I was moved the next morning to another room which was excellent in all respects.

IrelandOur room was on the very top floor, and during this summer heat the room was insanely hot during the night, we had a table fan but an ac or some sort is needed I think as it made it quite difficult to sleep.
The room was very clean and the bed really comfortable. the rest of the facility really nice, clean and fresh and modern. The Staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful! Will definitely come back and stay here again.
