Limited dinner choices on the Sunday we were there, as there was no roast dinners left when we arrived (5:15pm). Kitchen closes early on Sundays (6pm).

Very good breakfast, friendly staff and attentive service. Room comfortable and clean. Our 8 year old loved the play equipment in the garden.

This would not stop me for coming back, but I would say that the food and drink was a little bit expensive. I paid £33 for two beers and a burger, and the breakfast seemed expensive when looking at the menu, however it was included for me with my room. Food was very tasty however, but maybe something to plan ahead for if staying on a budget.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I booked it for a work trip and paid £88 for the night including a genius discount. Firstly, nice big amount of parking which is great as I had a large van. Check in was nice and easy and staff showed me to my room. Room was decorated nicely and very cosy, freshly baked cookies in a jar with the coffee area which was a nice touch, and proper coffee grounds to make your own coffee rather than rubbish instant. Room was very clean and so was the bathroom, which was a decent size for what I paid. Food and drink was nice as ate there for dinner, breakfast was good in the morning too, could order anything from the menu rather than typical buffet style. All round great hotel and would highly recommend.

Lovely stop for one night whilst travelling through. Rooms clean, bed comfy. Breakfast superb. The staff really make this place as they were so accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast service felt disorganised and a little understaffed, which led to slower service. The food was just okay and could have been better considering the overall quality of the hotel. A little more efficiency in the morning would really elevate the experience.

The hotel was charming, clean and comfortable throughout. Our room met all expectations and we found the staff to be warm and welcoming. It’s a lovely character property that makes for a relaxing stay.

The room was rather small, but nonetheless comfortable. Our main niggle was the lack of any cereal available for breakfast, surely a British staple! Why do so many places have to have a gourmet menu, even for breakfast? Just good old basic pub grub would suit us, and I am sure many elderly people.

Great place to stay if you are a railway enthusiast. The pub is part of a former railway station (closed in 1935) and there are lots of railway memorabilia on display. Nice quiet location about 10 minutes' drive (on a good day!) into Christchurch.

Our room was quite small and got hot at night. I would recommend booking one of the larger rooms.

We had dinner in the restaurant as well as breakfast and both were really good. Complimentary water and biscuits in the room which was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bar/restaurant was spacious and there is a train carriage outside which is available for private hire which was a quirky feature. Outside seating area was nice.
