Great location with views, comfortable room with access to lounge area and kitchen. Laura was very helpful with information regarding what to see and when to go and where to eat. Continental breakfast was superb, a huge choice and Laura even cooked us fresh scones. A very cosy, comfortable stay.

Nothing I didn't like.

I liked that there was a microwave, fridge, freezer, and oven available for guests to use at any time. This allowed me to bring in food and warm it up for dinner, which was really convenient.

Beautiful rooms in a lovely house. The kitchen area allowed me to prepare packed lunches and eat one evening after a long day. Hosts are helpful and informative and make sure they help you in any way possible.

There wasn’t anything to dislike about the property

We liked the whole experience staying at Aultnagar the facilities were just first class, the breakfasts were spot on especially the pancakes and the cheese scones were mmm . Laura did really spoil us a lovely lady we were sad to leave and Brian was ok 😂

Not a problem for us but you need a car to get to the accommodation as it is well outside the centre of Kirkwall (< 5 minutes drive). No hand washing allowed.

A warm welcome from host. Great views from the breakfast room that could also be used later in the day for takeaways. Continental breakfast very good with local foods (cheese, butter, bran cakes etc) to try . All the facilities you need in the room including small fridge. Water and Orkney fudge a nice touch. A B&B as you would expect and as I remember before emigrating.

Only very slight downside, is the location just on the outskirts of town, if you didn't have transport. Its a very short distance so I'm nitpicking on an otherwise perfect accommodation.

I travel frequently for work and this accommodation is the best B&B I have visited for a very long time. excellent facilities, very high level of cleanliness, nice self service breakfast room with everything you could ask for in a continental breakfast. Hosts were welcoming and made themselves available to help with anything without being intrusive. Great value for money. Just perfect and highly recommend

We wish we could have stayed longer!

The location was great with wonderful views. It was close to the center of Kirkwall while being very quiet. Our host was exceptionally friendly and hospitable, and the provided breakfasts each morning were amazing!

There wasn’t anything we really didn’t like. If I had to say anything, though it is totally out of the hosts control and due to the remoteness of the island, it’s that walking back from Kirkwall in the dark felt a bit hairy as it is along an extremely dark road without pavements or street lighting.

The property is well located and about a 3km walk from the centre of Kirkwall. The property was very clean, well decorated and comfortable. The owners live in the house but there is a separate entrance for guests and it felt very private. There was a range of cereals, fresh fruit and bread available for breakfast and the host also asked whether we would like pancakes; there was also plenty of sauces and toppings.

Laura and Brian were warm, gracious hosts for the 3 nights we were guests.The room was comfortable with nice views of the countryside and breakfast was delicious. Town is just a pleasant 20-minute walk. We would stay here again and recommend this lovely B&B to anyone.

Lovely, clean, home-like accomodations. we were made to feel welcome and were given great suggestions on places to explore on Orkney. breakfasts were great, lots of options (pancakes one morning). in the evening there were tasty home-made treats waiting for us as well.

Everything was wonderful. Beautiful and spacious room where I was so at home, as well as more space to relax. Hosts were wonderfully kind and welcoming and answered any questions. I would unhesitatingly go back whenever I went to Orkney. Oh and delicious scones.
