Nice, quiet place to lay our heads. Straight shot up the road to the Royal Mile (we walked the 1.3 miles). Perfect for our needs.

Very little room between the foot of the bed and the wall so it was a bit of a squeeze.

Location was very good - an easy 20 min bus trip to the city centre - multiple buses available. Also, an easy walk to cafés, supermarket and restaurants. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It had all the usual facilities, including an iron and ironing board. We didn't meet the staff but they were easy to contact.

Going home

Perfect location in walking distance to the city centre with lots of interesting things to see whole you make your way there. Lots of lovely local shops and places to get a gorgeous breakfast or a delicious night time munch.

Window / patio door couldn't be opened so no fresh air but understood for security. No dresser to get ready at or much space to hang items other than some coat hooks.

Location was great, 25 minute walk into the city where we were seeing a band. Too was clean and had tea making facility and an iron which was great. Easy access instructions when we arrived and managed to get one of the 2 car park spaces outside as we arrived early

Room #35 was up 4(?) flights of stairs and under eves of building. Only ‘seating’ was on the bed, trying to keep from konking one’s head! We asked to stay in #35 for 2nd night rather than move to # 44 which was lower floor(?)and ostensibly had more room. Wish I’d alerted host beforehand so as to maybe have had #44 both nights.

Cleaning staff sweetly helpful when we were in wrong Allison building. Room was ready b4 2p.m. which was SUPER convenient (though there WERE lockers had it NOT been). Quiet, temperature of room was good. Coffee & biscuits welcome (would have liked biscuits refreshed for our second night’s stay). Good communication from host.

the tv never works when i stay at Allison 16 or 17 properties.

the mattress was SO comfy. i was trying to find a label to see what make/style number it was so i could maybe buy one . nice white towels and cotton bedding. nice that there are chairs to sit in.

A fan would have been nice - it was roasting hot and we had to keep the windows open and therefore couldn't shut the blinds. There was also alot of mould in the bathroom. The TV should really be on a swivel wall bracket.

It was quite basic but clean. Could do with a bit of renovation.

It is on a very noisy road so didn't sleep much. It was an unusually warm weekend in Edinburgh so we had to keep the windows open which meant a constant stream of noise from the the road.

Great location. Walking distance to the city. Facilities were fine- shower was decent, bed comfortable and coffee making facilities were fine.

Wasn’t a huge deal for us but you can hear everything through the doors for the rooms, our door was right next to the door for another room so if they were coming in and out it sounded like they were in the same room. Again not a problem more a “be aware”

Having a micro oven would be helpful for the guests to use so they can heat up their food.

It’s a good place to stay, close by the bus stop which goes to the old town and city center. Very convenient!

There is no breakfast

A very nice apartment not far from the city center — just 10 minutes by bus. The hosts mentioned that parking can be difficult, but we were lucky to find a spot. The only downside is that breakfast is not provided.
