How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewthe lodge was so lovely, it was comfortable and decorated well it had everything that you needed super comfy bed and all nice touches throughout shower was good even though was electric, I normally find electric showers totally useless
pillows were a bit hard could have done with a blind at the bathroom window Bathroom needed a bit of a better clean...towel rail was dusty and large cobwebs in corners of bathroom

Verified reviewI loved everything! Beautiful place,, peaceful with a lovely landscape around. Not to mention Helen, she makes the difference between a place to stay to a real home! Definitely, this is the place, we look for while traveling. A paradise 10 minutes from Glasgow center.

The property was amazing, fresh, clean and comfortable but the traffic was a bit loud in the morning but not unbearable by any stretch. . Also, the buses to Glasgow and Edinburgh run every 30 ish minutes and the train from Glasgow was severely disrupted. If you have a car it would absolutely perfect but although close to Glasgow Central and the station is close to the property,the trains can be iffy. Maybe it was a one off. Either way, I had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend. Lovely equine neighbours too!

Verified reviewBeautiful furniture in the room and everything exceptionally clean. When there was an issue with the hot water it was sorted immediately. Facilities and equipment to cook/heat a small meal are very good. The outside was also well maintained with patio table and seating. Grounds well maintained also.
The main thing we didn't like was the noise from nearby traffic early in the morning but I think if we had been there for more than one night we would have got used to this.

Verified reviewthe room was immaculate when we got there - my girlfriend and i have contamination ocd so it’s a BIG deal that it felt incredibly clean to us. the location was amazing! it was quiet and calm but close enough to glasgow for us to get there easily. waking up and saying hello to the horses was probably the highlight of the stay. we spoke to the owner on our way out and she was so kind :)

Verified reviewA lovely little peaceful getaway spot with everything I needed. I feel like the details were minimalist but carefully thought out, leaving an uncluttered space without me feeling like something was left out. The shower is a combi shower but VERY powerful (never have I ever put it on the one-line setting before rather than the two!). The host contacted me on my drive up to check I was doing ok, and confirmed what to do when I arrived. easy check in/out process, and no excessive online forms prior to arriving.
some people report meeting a cat at this property - we didn't meet the cat :-( very disappointed!

Sound between the lodges, could here the shower and the toilet being flushed also the kitchen taps when turned on we could here from the neighboring lodge.

Verified reviewBeautiful little room; the place was CLEAN and well cared for. Lovely to have the mini-fridge and microwave, as well as tea and coffee in abundance.
The only downside was the road noise and the thin walls between units -- luckily the neighbors were quiet, and of course, there's nothing the host can do about the road! Just bring ear plugs for bedtime.

Verified reviewVery friendly hosts we were greeted upon arrival let us use their garageto store the bike.supplied Tea coffee sugar and milk enough for a few drinks each and also some chocolate bars which was really appreciated , as were limited for space Sometimes its the small touches that make all the difference Absolutely amazing lodge,beautifully decorated everything you need for your stay. The bed was super comfy. The surroundings are beautiful. Highly recommend. We will stay here again when we come up this way.
