There are no extra lockers for your stuff, so you're left having to trust your roommates. They do have a cupboard they are nice enough to store your luggage in before or after check-in/check-out though, which is handy.

Really cozy place right across from the Meadows. Was upgraded from a 4-bed to a 2-bed, which was nice. Room was clean and nice, the bathrooms are okay. Wifi worked very well, there's also a nice little community room to sit and plan your activities. Would definitely stay here again.

Lack of coathangers in the rooms, no towels, not very comfortable beds which make a lot of sounds. Not to mention, some showers are even cold.

Our door took a bit of time to figure out how to lock, the pillows could have been more fluffy, the tv didn’t work.

The bunk mattress was wornout and my old body doesn't agree with that anymore.

I checked in middle of the night. It was very clear and extremely easy. The staff and other guests were all nice and friendly. The kitchen was wonderful.

The floors creak and the bunk beds wobble. If you are a light sleeper, not a perfect place to stay.

Mattress had sharp springs sticking out, window would stay open (it was a warm night and a very stuffy room), dodgy torn wires on the floor and wallpaper going off revealing mold on the wall

Cleanliness could improve. Wifi had some spotty days. The more than 20 bike travelers that stayed during our stay would appreciate some kind of roof for the bikes.

It's cozy, usually pretty quiet, with a collection of all kinds of things around the place. The garden is really nice (if you're lucky to have sunny days) and was very useful for us, as we were traveling by bicycle and needed space to store them and also to pack them at the end of our stay. Bonus: usually lots of food and toiletries freebies! (check the "free" area before stocking up!)

There were not many toilets so it could get crowded at times, but the toilets themselves were fine. The bunkbeds were a little wobbly and squeaky. It would have been nice with a bedside lamp for each bed.

The location is ideal, well connected with the bus 9, calmer than the centre of Edinburgh but still very close to the centre. Also close to a beautiful lushious parc, an ice cream shop, a co-op that is open till late and a good fish and chips restaurant. The backgarden was very sweet and cozy. Big, spacious kitchens! Appreciated the system of taking care of the bathroom items left behind and making them available for the other residents instead of throwing them away.

Just one thing, there was a big hole on the wall in the bathroom in first floor and people can see you through the hole :(

From the second day I was only using the shower downstairs because the others always had a problem going on with them. The shower closest to my room had no water pressure and the water was very cold (after 8-10 minutes the water would get lukewarm). But my experience with UK hostels showers in general has been disappointing, I would say it was pretty standard.

The location is central but not too touristy, I was glad it forced me to see an area that I'm sure I would've missed if I had stayed in the very centre. I didn't mind walking 20mins to get to the main attractions and the walk through the Meadows was lovely everytime.
