The breakfast was disappointing. - buffet style Potato break so hard and morning coffee out of a machine Maybe I’m old but whatever happened to table service with a human being saying good morning would you like tea of or coffee,brown or white toast,please help yourself to the buffet!!

There are a few upgrades needed now - some stuff looked tired but not a deal breaker. Small changes would make a big difference. It was lovely to have the pool and spa area available. I had a treatment and the staff were great. A real added bonus. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly.

We loved the history and character of the hotel and the location was handy for most things. A real treat.

I dont really want to be picky, however filter coffee at breakfast rather than the machine would have made a huge difference, oat milk or soya options also. The pool was cut into far too many sections for its size, making the family section a little small. However the overall stay was excellent

Location waa excellent, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent, highly recommend the Burgers, Indian Salad, Ceasar Salad was huge, breakfast was really good value. Children loved their traditional fairytale experience of Scotland. Rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. We will definitely be coming again.

The walls of our dog friendly room were quite dirty at some places. It looked like a liquid ran down there and it was not properly cleaned.

The hotel is gorgeous, the surroundings are huge and very nice for dogs. The dinner in the bar was also very good and the barkeeper was very nice. The room was spacious and had an extra exit close by to walk the dog. Everybody was very friendly.

Looks tired inside, especially the rooms, and didn't really look that clean. I went to fill up kettle, and it had teabags in the kettle. Could also do with brighter lights in toilet.

Only one small thing, and not a complaint, our room was on the ground floor and we didn't appear to have a net curtain to pull over for privacy during the day.and had to close the curtains when getting dressed as people did walk around the hotel past our room.

Staff were exceptionally polite, in all areas of the hotel. We ate in the hotel each evening and food was really good. Spa facilities were also very good. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable break.

The bar and restaurant seemed to be understaffed with the staff there covering too much at one time but doing their best.

The walls could do with a wipe down as there were splash marks on some walls.

Staff were fantastic. Rooms were big , bed was bigger 😆 Dinner was amazing and breakfast was just as good. A warning!! The red cord in our room was not to turn off the lights but for an emergency response..good thing is we gave the front desk girl some exercise 🤣🤣

The room became stifling hot even with the windows open and a small fan on. A bigger fan may have helped, or some way to cool off the room.

The larger room was very nice, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was attentive.

Room was a long walk from the reception desk so need to consider this if you have difficulty with mobility.

Lovely setting and within easy reach of Aberdeen. Good standard of decor. Comfortable rooms with everything you need. Very clean. Great facilities although I didn’t have time to use the Spa. Plenty of parking.

The view from our room simply looked at a rising grass bank. Not bad, just so so! The expression - you get what you pay for - is probably appropriate!

The public rooms in the main building are from a lovely old manor house, with the bedrooms in a more modern extension. Our room was very comfortable and had been recently refurbished. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of tables available and a good variety of hot and cold food. Spa was very good - again recently refurbished. My wife and I ate in the bar a couple of times - good food and friendly bar staff.

They suddenly locked the outside door about midnight with people still outside so we had to find a guest to let us back in.

The hotel is beautiful and we had such a spacious room. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the bar staff especially were keen to make you feel welcomed and up for a laugh. The breakfast was well presented and plenty options. We got some Irn Bru and a caramel wafer & crisps in the room which was a lovely touch.

Signage on main road on arrival not obvious enough. A few signs on the approach roads (1/2 to 1 mile away) would be beneficial. Signage to swimming pool changing rooms are non existent and definitely required.

Location was fine but weather warning stopped us benefiting from it. The swimming pool etc was very good.
