Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCouldn't fault a thing! THANK YOU!
Every aspect was exceptional. The bed was comfortable. The room was spotless. Tea/coffee and fridge in room, and some lovely homemade Scottish tablet. Kirsty and Kevin were the perfect of hosts and Kev's breakfast were superb (the choice was very extensive) with eggs produced by their own chooks.

AustriaKirsty and Kevin were the best hosts you can imagine. Always nice and helpful with a lot of good trip advises. And that was not even the best thing about our stay. Their breakfast was amazing and one of the highlights of the day. You could choose your breakfast and they were all delecious. The eggs came directly from their own chicken. Thanks again for everything - that was a great start in our holiday!

United KingdomOur key to the door handle was a bit tricky ...but really that was all.
Kevin and Kirsty are very friendly attentive hosts. Fabulous choice and quality of breakfast which were of generous size Room very comfortable with everything you need. We enjoyed the DVD lending library so that at the end of the day we could watch a film in our PJs The shower was good and free toiletries a bonus ( less to pack) The little fridge kept our drinks cool too. The premises just a short walk to the main high street in Aviemore using the railway bridge. Our room oveooked the garden which was pleasant and relaxing. We enjoyed watching the chickens and ducks and the pheasant and baby rabbit who would appear in the morning. Fabulous BnB and we hope to be back again!

I cannot recommend Ardlogie Guest House enough! Kirsty and Kev were kind and welcoming hosts who really made our stay with their positivity every morning at breakfast for which there were great options and tasted amazing. The facilities were great, clean and such an amazing location so close to everything! The hot tub and sauna were very easy to use and made our stay even better, getting to relax there in the beautiful scenery after a long walk. Next time we're back in Aviemore we will absolutely stay here again :)

United StatesVery close to the train station and walking distance to Aviemore. Did not get the chance to use the hot tub, but the sauna was a nice bonus especially in December. The room was very comfortable and the hosts are wonderful! The breakfast is better than anything you would get at a hotel. I would stay here again next time I am in Aviemore.

United StatesI wouldn't change anything about my stay.
Ardlogie Guest House felt like home. It is a short walk from the train and bus stops, so easy access to transportation. The room was comfortable and well supplied for ensuring what you needed was at hand. Tastefully decorated in highland tradition. Great conversation with Kristy and Kev. Helpful with questions about getting around, and suggestions for things to do. Breakfast was provided and there were ample choices for hearty to light dishes. Highly recommended.

It was one of the best stays I ever had. The couple is super friendly, the accommodation is greatly decorated and the rooms are really comfy. They also accommodated us the best way possible when we asked for an early breakfast. I felt very welcome. I never write a review but this time I felt I had too.

United StatesHot tub was being cleaned due to another customer spill, but Kev did his best to get it operational again. Facility is not accessible, but there are only a few steps to get inside and there is a room on the ground floor.
Kevin and Kirsty are exceptional hosts. They are fun, friendly, gregarious, knowledgeable, and helpful. Breakfast was extensive, great variety, and delicious. We tried different items each morning and were never disappointed and never left hungry. Kevin always had suggestions for the day if we wanted them. They provided maps for us to use for hiking and road maps for exploring the area. Fresh eggs from their chickens were delicious. Short walk across railroad bridge to downtown taverns and stores.

SpainArdlogie looks quite unassuming from the street, but once you walk thru the gate, you’re treated to a lively garden, home to chickens and pheasants (the chickens’ eggs provide you with a great breakfast), fruit trees, flowers. The home is warm, welcoming and completely unassuming—a perfect place to settle in and relax after an active day…or simple relax, read, nap and feel no pressure to do anything but “be.” (Just what we needed at the time.) The rooms are cozy and super comfortable with sweet views of the garden. And the shower is fantastic! Ardlogie is perfectly located for simple access to the restaurants, activities and facilities in Aviemore. And it’s close to many hiking trails and within driving distance to great historical sites including the Culloden Battlefield and the Clava Cairns. The breakfast menu is extensive and every meal is prepared individually. The food is superb, quite simply the best breakfasts we’ve had (and we always stay in B&Bs—not Airbnb.) I’ve saved the best for last: Kirstie and Kevin. They are five stars out of five. They’re fun, funny, friendly and the warmest people you’d be lucky enough to encounter—simply the best hosts ever. Their knowledge of the area and their joy at sharing suggestions are unparalleled. If you are lucky enough to find lodging at Ardlogie (and I suggest that as soon as you have your dates, reserve your room) you’re are in for a wonderful time.
