Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing i didn't like.
The whole holiday experience was first class. The owners Ian and Kay couldn't have been nicer. Nothing was to much trouble for them. The lodge was clean and comfortable. The welcome pack was first class. I would highly recommend. We will definitely be back. Garry and Paula.

United KingdomIt could be a little noisy. It's a farm at the end of the day, so the sound of the sheep would wake us quite early and sometimes the other residents were up and about really early around 6am shutting car doors and lodge doors which woke us. Nothing that would put us off returning, though.
The location was really pretty, a lodge on a lovely farm with a very pretty view of the sea and fields. Kay was really lovely, popping by to say hello, ensuring you had everything you needed. Nothing was too much trouble. The little honesty box was a lovely touch, selling homemade jams, chutney, and free-range eggs 🥚

United KingdomThe pipes for the shower that go through one of the bedside wardrobes could do with some kind of boxing over them. Other than that there were no issues.
The lodges are in a beautiful location, the hosts were friendly, very helpful and easy to contact if you have any queries or issues. The local produce and home made treats in the welcome pack were very much enjoyed! We stayed back in 2022 and very much enjoyed our return to the farm.

United KingdomSome cooking oil would be helpful. We travelled a long way so didn't want oil spilling in the car.
We had a wonderful time here. We loved learning about the different types of sheep and especially meeting some of the lambs. Everyone we met was very welcoming and friendly and we visited several great beaches and castles in the local area. The accommodation had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Lodge very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Great value welcome pack. Kay and Ian were fantastic hosts with the highlight being feeding the sheep and lambs in the morning. United KingdomCouldn't find fault with anything in our lodge except we only slept in the double bed for the first night. The mattress was extremely hard and we both woke up rather groggy and in pain. Decided to make up the single beds and slept well for the next 4 nights but room a bit tight for 2 adults. Other than that the lodge itself has all you need.
Lovely area, enjoyed some lovely walks and Port Patrick was beautiful. Ideal location benefiting from the quiet location yet not far to Stranraer for shops etc

United KingdomLodges are laid out in two rows so the view from the rear lodges (ours was lodge 4) are slightly obscured by the front lodges. Not an issue for us, but if the view is important to you its best to check in advance which lodges have the best view.
Lovely rural location a short drive to Portpatrick Ian and Kay were great hosts and provided all the information we needed to know about our stay ahead of our arrival. Parking right beside our lodge. The lodge was well presented and laid out with two bedrooms, a nicely appointed living room, and a well appointed kitchen. Access to a washing machine a short walk from the lodge. Lodge has a nice patio. Decent wifi signal. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommend to others.

United KingdomThere was no gate on the patio area that also went round the side of the accommodation so your little pouch could go wandering off. I made a suggestion to kay that it would be great to have a gate and hopefully they will fit a gate on each property in the future so you can chill on the patio without your dog going off to view the 🐑😁
The location was beautiful, on top of a hill and over looking the sea where you could see Northern Ireland. The accommodation was lovely, very clean, lovely furniture and plenty of pictures all taken from the farm and it's many sheep. Everything you needed for a self catering relaxing holiday and even had patio doors opening into your own patio with picnic wooden bench and solar lugging along the fencing. You could even have a new outside your accommodation and was was literally outside your front door. There was an enclosed area next to the accommodation so you could walk your dog, let them have a good play or sniff around or to just stand watching the sheep through the fence which our dog did and I found that most amusing as she had never seen sheep before. Ian and Kay went brilliant hosts although we didn't get to meet Ian we did have contact with him before we arrived. They ensured our accommodation was not sprayed or cleaned with any strong smelling chemicals as I have Scent Sensitivity that is detrimental to my health. They also opened the windows.to air the accommodation before our arrival to eliminate any left over smells from previous guests or scents from the cleaning ladies. Kay came to see us upon our arrival and was very welcoming, friendly and if we needed anything she encouraged us to let her know. A lovely working farm and highly recommend a stay here and to visit Port Patrick the most beautifully harbour and shops we have ever seen.

United KingdomWeather but that's Scotland...The Lodge and it's owners can't be faulted for that ..
Relaxing and peaceful spot. Lodge was comfy and clean and had everything you'd need. Although at end of a drivable track as you need to go slow, was great as spotted hares, deer, a hawk, fields of cows and sheep. Lots of small towns to explore and visit. Owner came down to check everything was ok and she was very helpful
